Rigondeaux is an exceptional, superb, A+ once in a lifetime fighter. Lol.

these rigo fans are already hyping him up for something we haven't seen him done in the pros. at least wait for him to do something significant before putting a label on him. these idiots are taking fanaticism to a new embarassing level.
I think fans just love to "scout" the next big thing. Everyone loves to say, "I called it!" There's probably a lot of that going on with Rigo. If Guillermo loses convincingly to Donaire, there will be a lot of people jumping off the bandwagon, and your irritation will subside. If Rigondeaux beats Nonito, it's gonna get even crazier, especially with all the front-runners jumping onboard.

He's an incredible talent at this point and hopefully his career progresses and his potential is fulfilled. If he does beat Donaire not only will I pay you the e-points, congratulate you on your pick, but I will jump right on the bandwagon and sing his praises which I would normally reserve for a more experienced fighter. Win or lose I hope this kid goes places.
I find Rigo more entertaining to watch, but at the end of the day Donaire still has a considerable size advantage, can punch and is tons faster than any opponent Rigondeaux has ever faced. I understand the whole 'Donaire can be too much of a head hunter, can at times look for that one big shot, but to me this is a case of Donaire knowing what he has in front of him, and when Donaire was expected to have a tough outing or even lose, he came with it, he literally threw every punch and mixed it up. Like both, might actually even root for Rigondeaux, not sure yet but I'm confident Donaire takes it. At the end of the day I feel Rigondeaux is gonna have to fight the perfect fight, and I honestly don't intend to count on that happening.

He was hurt by cordoba;s jab he was down. then ran the whole night.

Donaire trip , then try to flip, he wasn't hurt, he continue what hes doing, countering .

When I hyped Donaire in 2007, I never said he'll KO Darchinyan coz I thought Darchi got chin! But I said Donaire will counter him all night with a leTHAL left hook! I never over did it!

Fast forward today, facts are laid out. Donaire has the ko power. Rigo can be hit by left hook. It's a simple analysis! Then Rigo fans throw his Olympic record, his skills, like he's superman! We knew better!

you're one of the more level-headed rigo fans in here so i wasn't referring to you.

scouting is a "wait and see" attitude but reading all these posts by rigo fanboys seems like rigo is already having a hall of fame type of boxing career. the guy is just about to have his first ever real challenging fight in the pros. this is the fight where rigo can really show what he's made of but all that remains to be seen.

it's easy to look good and skilled against overmatched opponents and that's what he's previous fights is all about. you can't be considered an elite unless you beat an elite fighter.

one fighter that comes close in my mind despite different weight classes would be GGG which they had at 345-5...

now to what credibility wiki holds is not for me to comment on idk if those stats are correct...
Lomachenko has a better record than GGG, and similar to Rigo.

It's because of the reaction post KD. Rigo started outright running, for the rest of the fight. Why would he do that if it was a balance thing?

                    • I just read this whole thread. April 13 can not come quick enough, i know this fight has the potential to be a snoozer but im so excited.

I would like to point out that Donaire did not look very good against Omar Andres Narvaez and that was because he was being really defensive and not opening up and he made donaire look ordinary (compared with past fights). Rigo is much much better defensively and has great counters.

Donaire tends to load up on his shots too much, i think he should just box and he will find an openinig over 12 rounds. It will be interesting to see how rigos chin does.

SO SO SO PUMPED. I got donaire by the way anyone wanna bet? even money?
