Cloud was awful and this was a very boring fight.

This wasn't even a boring fight. If you're a fan of the sweet science then I don't know how you can't even appreciate Hopkins' craft.

If you're the fan that prefers the Rios-Alvarado mindless brawling style of fighting, then I gotta ask; what the hell were you doing watching a B-Hop fight in the first place.

I know that hop is great to make you fight the way he wants you to fight but at some point you just go to at least try to make it a street fight. The fight is slipping away NOW do something for God's sake.

No Hop is not fun to watch at all. I respect his game but I want to see someone just knock him the **** out.

First off, this isn't about your entertainment. What you find entertaining is irrelevant. For all we know you personal movie favorites are some of the worst films ever made. Now continuing:

I did. With full expectations of it not being a barn burner.

Why was Cloud so passive?? No aggression whatsoever and he hardly let his hands go? WTF was that all about?

It's part Cloud being a one-dimensional come forward fight. And part because of what Hopkins did. His subtle movements coming off the ropes and rolling his shoulder every time Cloud tried to throw a looping punch. It was SWEET SCIENCE in it's purest form.

Yes Hop is a legend but most of his fights are just boring.

Again, this is irrelevant. I don't watch a Hopkins fight expecting FOTY or even close to it. You either watch because you're a fan of his and are invested in seeing him win again OR because you don't like him and want to see him get beaten or knocked out. Was this it?

I want to see him against someone who actually comes to fight with a great work rate, pressure and set a high pace.
you are failing to connect the dots. Hopkins had something to do with reducing Cloud's punch output. It's not like Cloud voluntarily came in to throw the lowest punch out put in his career. This make me question your mental capacity.

This was a f_ucking terrible slow pace fight just like Hop wanted.
The way he made it and need it to be.

Cloud should really be ashamed of himself
You should be ashamed of making this garbage thread. It was unwarranted.

He's limited and his only chance at winning was to throw more but he Hopkins made him hesitant to pull the trigger.
The only time Cloud throws a 1,000 punches is when he's fighting a bum or someone with almost no skills.

He didn't throw nearly 100 punches a round against Yusuf Mack. Mack cut his workrate down drastically. If Mack didn't have a chin made from literal glass he'd have probably won that fight and even then it took Cloud 8 rounds to finally land a good inevitable punch.

          Same thing with Campillo.

Cloud is one of the worst fighters I've seen in recent years, honestly. He's worse than Jeff Lacy.

So you mean someone like an undefeated Kelly Pavlik? 100 punches per round, and fought like a beast?

Or maybe a young, undefeated Cloud, who threw well above the average punches for a LHW, a bit over 70 per round, and had excellent power?

They are exactly the types of guys Hopkins eats up. He's been doing it against those guys his whole career. When will people learn?

              Overall a rudimentary fighter.
For the most part I agree. But with that said, he did beat Glen Johnson and was undefeated. It's always nice to be the FIRST on record to beat a undefeated fighter.

Anyway, I actually liked it. The first few rounds, as Hopkins adjusted and shook off the rust, were pretty bad, but then the rest was good.

In all honesty, Hopkins could have put an absolute beating on Cloud ala Pavlik.

Hopkins at 44 would have ended Cloud's career.

I think he still might have. I don't expect to see Cloud at the world class level ever again.

It's frustrating to shallow fight fans who are used to two guys either fighting in the pocket, throwing everything they've got. Or one guy unloading his biggest punches while the other is against the ropes.

Clearly TS was unaware of Hopkins' ability to slip, slide and avoid punches, and throw just enough to win the rounds.
