Calzaghe moving up in weight, fighting in america, beating old master hopkins? I'd say that's a very good win

I'd say, given Hopkins' level of craftsmanship and mastery of boxing as an art form, that it was an impressive win. I had Calzaghe winning by a very narrow margin, maybe 114-113, if I remember correctly.

        A rather good win,

but let's not act as if it was a prime, or close to prime, Hopkins. Nobody is prime at 43.

Taking a dodgy SD against old man Popkins is one thing, but it's the events that came about after that.

Joe was undefeated in arguably one of the worst divisions at any moment/division in history outside the Cruiserweight during his reign.

He should have made the move to the states to fight RJJ/Hopkins and even Toney if he really wanted to during the early 2000's.

But the fact that he waited till RJJ was ridiculous shot to bits and Hopkins couldn't even get a data on HBO Or Showtime pretty much says it all.

Not to mention that after he left Warren, Warren came out with details of how Joe was content on facing sub-par opposition in the UK and "pulled out" with excuses (fake injury i believe) against Glen Johnson after he totalled RJJ .

Was it a good win? In an Engineered career, sure.
In History? Joe wasted his talent
Those guys were on steroids. Even if they would take the fights, Joe was supposed to fight them in their backyard? talk about a stacked deck.

I think JC could have done more in his career, but not on those terms.

in all seriousness, i can see how it may look that way to the untrained eye of someone who is new to the sport. hopefully one day you will understand the sweet science that is boxing and learn how to score a fight so you can see it for what it truly was.

            a boxing lesson.
A boxing lesson you say? That is absolutely hilarious! it was an absolutely horrible fight, with Hopkins fouling constantly(veteran moves to the untrained eye of an arselicker) and doing very little punching. New to the sport? If you thought that was a boxing lesson, I can only assume that it was the first fight you ever watched, and even then you obviously didnt pay attention.

            Boxing lesson!

As much as I love Hopkins, I completely saw Calzaghe winning that fight, it wasnt close neither

When Calzaghe inititally made his comments in his book about Roy Jones, I doubt he expected that a major network would be ****** enough to offer him the amount of money HBO offered him to fight Jones.

It was a really good win for Calzaghe. Ugly fight, good win nonetheless.

Yeah but at the end of the day Calslappy didn't land 1 significant punch the whole night. Not even 1
