        it wasn't a prime hopkins, but it was still a hopkins that would go on to get significant wins.



        calzaghe's win over hopkins is solid, given bernard's track record after the fight.

          It's possibly his best win. A very good win.
          Kessler also comes to mind. After that it's thin.

          Hopkins usually shut down the opponents offensive. But Calzaghe remained very active and that's what gave him the win.

            whats relevant is that he didn't chase Roy and others until he was shot2**** and there was nowhere else to go. JC was happy fighting crap fighters for a decade. Even Chris John doesn't do that.

            Others chased him, Steve Collins chased him before his injury that led to early retirement, but Joe stayed well away from him and other top fighters.
