Yeah thats what I say. Calzaghe didn't land one significant punch the entire fight and he got dropped in the first round. No one takes him seriously.

Good win going up a weight and doing it over in the States. Calazaghe's work rate was the antidote for Hopkins' trickery.

The theory at the time was that Hopkins was shot, done, nothing left

Since then Hopkins has beaten pavlik, Pascal and Cloud, well schooled all of them and won three more world titles.

Years and years roll by, champs come and go but Hopkins keeps racking up dem wins

Hopkins just keeps whoopin' these guys, and that win is looking better and better for Sir Joe
It was a good win, Calzaghe is a style nightmare for Hopkins, he smothered the hell out of Hopkins, remember what Calzaghe did to Jeff Lacy? He destroyed that monster and took his zero and his soul with furious slapping punches.

Hopkins is lucky there aren't many aggressive and fearless inside fighting pressure fighters who will go at him non stop in his division, thats his biggest weakness its why people thought he was done after the Calzaghe fight, you can't give him range and have to smother him with lots of body shots and punches a good high work rate from the southpaw stance and no fear of getting hit back.

          a 43 year old Hopkins.

This. Even a tainted win over Hopkins might be his best.

Though for argument sake lets say Kessler was his best win.

But why can't you guys save these topics for another day. Not on post night while everyone's adrenalin level is still up high?

Lol at the tards on here

So we have gone from concensus "Hopkins was shot" as being the excuse to now that one won't work so "it was a robbery"

            Pathetic

Actually whats pathetic is you ball sucking a fighter that is long retired and nobody cares about.

The fight exposed Calzaghe's lack of skills at world level (as did the Kessler fight until Kessler gassed).

It was a poor display skillwise for Joe (no one can pretend its anything other than that, his constant misses were terrible), but a good win on paper and excellent display on conditioning by the inexhaustible JC.

He wasn't shot but clearly it was an ugly fight, very close and not a fight neither guy should be too proud of despite who anyone thinks won. Leave it at that.

Hopkins was clearly at only 50% fitness versus Joe.

To think he very nearly lost a fight versus a fortysomething who only showed up for half the fight means he put on a poor show of skill. Only his extraordinary fitness allowed him to sc**** it.

NOONE can doubt that Joe had Olympian, ATG fitness.

I don't really give him credit for it because I thought he lost just got a gift decision. ( Just another great white hype getting more credit then he deserved ) Thought I was in the minority good to know I'm not.
