This is true... every fighter uses hand wraps in competition. Most use them in practice too.

You'd be suprised, but 100% of the coaches I know encourage fighters to use hand wraps.

Even the Kids wear them in the amateurs...

.... loaded wraps on the other hand... are illegal.

Pavlik isn't B class either, fighters like De La Hoya and Mosley fall into that category.

Paul Williams is a C class fighter who should be grouped with fighters like Miguel Cotto and Vargas. Fighters who had a good run and achieved more than the above average fighter.

Pavlik is a D class fighter, amongst the likes of Zab Judah and Jermain Taylor.

I've always felt that people were too generous in the way that they rate fighters. It belittles the accomplishment of the sports actual greats.
As an f class fighter I now take pride in being just a step below the Pavliks of the world.

      Made my day.

Anyway..."A" fighter in todays era. There's no point in comparing to a person who doesnt even fight where one can prove this...that's silly.

<__<... Seriously though...guys like Malignaggi would be F class? So this is how HBO must look at some of their match making. I think I'm in the running to fight Broner! Help me train gaiz!

At one point Paul Williams was number 3 on the P4P list.... apparently that only gets you a B- rating? Why even watch boxing then...

(if I'm not mistaken Williams only had 2-3 fights at that weight, he was a blown up welter)

And vs Chavez who's also a glorified slugger with no defense and slow as hell and was nearly ktfo? This is after Chavez smoked weed all camp

Those are his 2 best wins of his career and he is somehow top 3? Wtf?

He beat some European bums, he should get no credit for that..

          NO CLASS A FIGHTERS...

Some people have him above Ward, who has beat at least 3 world class fighters in Dawson, Froch and Kessler all by wide margins
I agree, complete fraud. Ward went up to 175 and beat the snot out of Dawson too..................wait.

Broner didn't even make the list... why would you bother fighting that bum... Put on some weight and see if you can get Ali out of retirement... at least you'd be fighting an A fighter.

Obviously Williams and Pavlik are great wins, and he's had other very good wins.

You could also argue he beat Williams 2X and he also beat Cintron 2X as well
