Based on what? Vitali's stellar resume and history of beating ATG HW's?

    No chance.

yeah wow Lewis must have really thought himself lucky, I bet he thought - 'Lucky they stopped the fight or this euroguy would be collecting pennies on the street blind and homeless for the rest of his life'.

Does not have the resume to even put him in top 15 or 20. The weak argument that the Klitschkos are the best has and always be debunked.

ATG? HoF would be my guess.

Other than TKO6, which ATG fighter has Vitali (or Wlad for that matter) fought, much less beat?

Can you be an ATG without beating one?

Sure you can, can you be an ATG without ever being the #1 at HW though?

I think the best the Klits can dubiously claim is HOF based on shared sibling ownership of the HW titles, though that really tells us more about how watered down the division has become - no previous family members would ever have been able to own the HW titles between them, the ability levels were too high to allow the lowered average of brothers in a tiny gene pool to rule.

Wlad is potentially approaching a separate HOF status if he can set a record of some sort before he retires.

So name some ATGs that never beat one.

Seriously. My historical knowledge ain't very deep and is limited to guys I've seen in my lifetime.

                  Who?

To be clear i don't think Vitali is anywhere close to an ATG heavyweight.

As to if you can become ATG without beating one, probably?

Larry Holmes only ATG win is against a punch drunk Ali. Should we even count it? It's like beating Evander now.
Remove that win and Holmes resume is just as strong imo.

Tysons only ATG win is over Larry Holmes coming from retirement. I don't rate that win highly at all. It's questionable if Tyson is an ATG heavyweight though.
