A silly fight. No one cares about Pianeta. Wlad has better options such as Solis (who for those who disagree is at least better than this bum), Pulev, Povetkin, Helenius, Fury, Adamek, even Wilder would be better than this joke. The situation with Povetkin is ridiculous. There needs to be more done to stop TV power. If it isnt organisations such as WBA agreeing ****** voluntary defenses, its promoters and TV contracts stopping the fights people actually want to see!
Kind Regards.I'd like some help with my profile, pics, alerts for replies etc those kinda things,I'll PM you.
Are you saying Buster Douglas and Pianeta are on the same level?
I'm probably just as big a Wlad fan as you or Freedom or whoever. I'd love to see him break every record out there. I wont excuse every single move he makes though. I'm not a bumsniffer, I'm a boxingfan.
Vitali and Wladimir should not have the same responsibilities.
Vitali is an old man.
Wladimir is as good as he's ever been.
Considering that he'd been a top ranked contender for years, fought and beat former champions and was clearly world class and had some great qualities, when he put in a consistent training camp, that statement is just inane. They are not remotely similar. Douglas, at his best, is still better than every single heavyweight out there today not named Klitschko. People overlook everything he did, mistakenly thinking he came out of nowhere and had no skill. He'd been around for a long time, fought a lot of top opposition and shown some great skill and fought very well for years leading up to the Tyson fight.Comment

For what it's worth, i watched Sosnowski-Pianeta when this fight first had rumors about happening.
I scored it 115-113 Sosnowski.Comment

No matter who the Klitschkos fight, some people will whine and moan about it. It's sickening.
Francesco Pianeta is a good fighter. He's 28-0, 6'5", age 28, a southpaw, a former world amateur youth champion, and has never been down in a fight.
I'm looking forward to seeing Wladimir fight again!
Was Buster Douglas a no hoper against Tyson ? remind me who won that fight again please.Wlad is closing in on all kinds or records, jealousy and envy is a fother mucker right ?
I can't wait to see Wlad fighting 3 times a year again, last year allowed the likes of Price,Pulev and Fury to progress and get the experience needed,I couldn't care less what bums get beat on by the bro's as long as they fight their mandatories and unifications down the line.Theyve cleared out the last wave and are awaiting the next line of would be challengers.
Whether Vitali continues or not, which I hope he does,I'll be happy with a defining career, rather than a particular defining fight.Hopefully he sticks around and fights Fury though,I'd like to see him on his backside or retiring on his stool.

The same with every Klit opponent.Comment

Perhaps Wlad fights what's available. Such a shame we cannot just turn back time and let him KO Foreman, Holmes, Holyfield and Tyson. But you know, all the champs fought their share of lesser accomplished opposition.Comment

I'm not a fan of this fight at all, but I'd rather wladimir fight someone, than sit around and be inactive. I think wladimir is an ATG fighter and I think we are lucky to see him be so active in his prime unlike some fighters. If he is waiting for fights with the more recognised guys I'd rather him fight undefeated fighters than old rehashed challengers like oquendo. If he fights povetkin then pulev after this then I think we can say 2013 will have been a productive yearComment

Don't count out Holyfield just yet! Doubt he would have won against the others you mentioned but that's besides the point. As stated previously in this thread, I agree the talent pool is not that deep. But he could have made fights with the likes of boytsov (before pulev), pulev, helenius, Fury, Povetkin, Arreola just once in his last four. But he's chosen not to.Comment
