  • There's some straight up ignorance going on in this poll.

As far as a complete list of wins and where those guys were at the times, he is Top 5.

Only Whitaker, Holyfield, and Pacquiao slightly are clearly above Floyd the last 25 years. Hopkins and Lewis are debatable, but let's list those wins.

Hopkins beat Mercado, Jackson, Holmes, Trinidad, Daniels, Joppy, Allen, De La Hoya, Eastman, Tarver, Wright, Pavlik, and Pascal.

Lewis beat Ruddock, Tucker, Bruno, Jackson, McCall, Akinwande, Golota, Briggs, Holyfield, Grant, Botha, Rahman, and Vitali. I don't give him credit for Tyson, Mike hadn't done anything of note in like 4 years by 2002.

Foyd has beat Genaro, Manfredy, Corrales, C. Hernandez, Chavez, Castillo, Gatti, Judah, Baldomir, De La Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, and Cotto.

I may actually give him an edge over Lewis, and it's debatable with Hopkins.

And as far as the others possibly up there....Tyson, Toney, Jones, De La Hoya, Marquez, Barrera, Morales, Floyd has a better list of wins than those guys.

I wouldn't put Floyd's resume in the top nickel of the last 25 yrs....can't reward him for him taking time off when his division was the hottest in the sport...and what makes it even crazier is that I feel as though he would've beaten them all with only Mosley and Cotto coming close to beating him...but he took time off for whatever reasons

he came back and still fought Mosley and Cotto but they wasn't the same fighters they were when Floyd skipped town for a minute...to keep it 100, neither was Floyd...but it is what it is

      Great post.

      • Does anybody here take losses into account? If I follow the logic of some of the posters in this thread, a fighter can beat prime SRR and lose all his other fights and he'll have the greatest resume of all time.

          Victoriano Sosa

          Phillip Ndou

          DeMarcus Corley

          Arturo Gatti

          Zab Judah

          Carlos Manuel Baldomir

          Oscar De La Hoya

          Ricky Hatton

          Juan Manuel Marquez

          Shane Mosley

          Victor Ortiz

          Miguel Cotto
is one of the worst resumes of all time IMO! And to top it off none of his fights were great fights or real interesting. Boring!

Perfect example of a Pac fan post Cotto onwards.

            • Very debatable. His accomplishments and record show yes but his inactivity gets in the way. When you look at the past 25 and the pound for pound greats, including heavyweight. I would and always will say Roy Jones Jr has been the best to lace gloves the past 50 years while he was on top, which was almost 10 years himself! Compared to Roy, No. Compared to the heavyweight fighters of the late 80's and 90's , yes!

Agreed. By a lot of people's logic Buster Douglas has one of the best resumes over the past 25 years because his win over a prime/undefeated Tyson >>>>> most fighters best win over the past 25 years. And his losses aren't even considered.
