You are correct that not all Floyd fans are like that. I agree. That is NOT what I meant to say .....

...... but to say that there is not an awful lot of Floyd fans on this site who defend him in the same manner well, then that would be incorrect.

    Pick you choice .......

      Golota
      Holyfield
      Vitali
      Tua
      Rahman
      Ruddock
      Mercer
      Bruno

      vs

      Delahoya
      Mosley
      Marquez
      Castillo
      Corrales
      Judah
      Hatton
      Cotto
      Hernandez (Genaro)

Lewis has been knocked out twice, also. Floyd has been half knocked down once. It's close mate.
So Floyd's best work was before WW? Then why you listed 6 of 9 who he fought that were WW+? lol!

From that list, you have 2 that fought a TOTAL of 1 fight at WW yet you have their names on the list. Lennox fought well established HWs. How can you possibly compare? NOT THE SAME!!!

An older Lennox fought a prime Vitali as his last fight. Floyd's present fight will be another guy with just 2 fights at WW.

Actually the poster that you quoted is one of the more knowledgable and reasonable Floyd fans. From what I've seen the guy is able to support his opinions with reason and thought. You can disagree without trying to be dismissive. I don't really see what was so unreasonable about what he said. When did he say that DLH was "crap" during his last 8 years? All that I saw him say was that the last 8 years of Floyd's career have been better than the last 8 years of DLH's career. You seemed to have built a strawman and used it to try and be dismissive of Floyd fans in general. You have a clear anti-Mayweather agenda.

Because I would have had to start listing good fighters at 130 that no one heard of but were awesome. Like Manfredy, Chavez, etc. and then start listing no hopers for Lewis like Both or Briggs Also Floyd was a lot more active and dominant at the lower weights IMO which is why I feel his best work was done there.

Lewis has the best W out of the bunch over Vitali IMO but then Floyd dominates in all the other areas- more championships, a longer winning streak, more rounds won, more champions beaten, a better record in title fights.

What's up. Here's something that I've wondered when people compare here resumes. Are the Ls on a fighter's record count when evaluating a fighter's resume or not? Personally, I don't see how one can say that Pacquiao's resume is better than Mayweather's considering his Ls. The wins on his resume are only marginally more impressive if at all.

I think it matters depending on when it happened.

                Example:
Vitali losing to Byrd sure as hell count a lot more than if David Haye brutally knock Vitali out this year...

I think Pacquaio's loss to JMM does count against him because Pacquaio is by no means shot.. that being said JMM is an elite fighter.. etc

You are right of course in that Pacquaio Floyd is debatable .

Like I said it's interchangeable in regards to

                Whitaker
                Hopkins
                Lewis
                Holyfield
                Pacquaio
                Floyd

                Jones
                De La Hoya

I feel a lot of fans that start comparing Pacquiao only started watching around the time of the Delahoya/Pac or Delahoya/Hatton bouts so they can't be taken too seriously. He had a lot of ups and downs and unfortunately as great of a fighter he is, getting brutally stopped the way he has and his struggles with Marquez does hurt his standing over all.

                  my two cents lads.

How can you say Briggs was a no hoper?

Prime Briggs fought Lewis.. a god damn DECADE LATER Briggs got another shot at Vitali..

If the Briggs that fought Lewis was a 'no hoper' what the hell do you call Vitali's win over Briggs??

                    That's demoralizing for Vitali man.

I don't rate Vitali's win over Briggs at all. Nor do I rate Wlad's over Mercer, for example. Vitali is tremendously overrated in my opinion. He lost to the 2 best fighters he fought, retired for 3 years and came back when the era was fcking terrible and is now retiring again it seems.

                      Meh.
