It depends on who you ask.

Jones Jr, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Hopkins and Holyfield will be in the same tier. Different individuals will have their own preference/outlook but on the balance of things they will be seen in similar light.

Marquez and Mosley are some tiers beneath.

If fighter A beats 5 HOFers yet obviously struggles in each, while fighter B looks amazing beating some ok champs, the simple fact remains that fighter A is greater. It's literally that simple.

You beat better fighters, you are the better fighter. Performance should only come into play when looking at things after who someone beat. It adds on to it, but it never, ever takes the place of who someone beat.

In reality, Ray Leonard looked pretty bloody awful when he beat Duran. Duran did too, but...He still beat a top ten ATG. Hopkins has scragged his way through some great win, despite looking ugly, boring and scrappy. He still won. It's all that matters.

Calzaghe looking amazing vs Lacy is great stuff. Looked sensational. The way he slapped, scragged, spazzed out, flopped around and looked like a general ****** vs Hopkins is still ten times better. He beat Hopkins.

Who you beat (and when) = how great you are.

Performance plays a small, secondary part, but when it comes down to it, it's not that important.
Like it or not, but at this day and age PED use has to be taken into account on some scale.

I voted for RJJ and you know I'm not a big fan of his. But yeah, you make a valid point.

          2. Pac
          3. Mayweather

We we always remember the old Jones Jr.
There won't be another Pac, never ever.

Holyfield was undisputed Cruiserweight champion and 4 times Heavyweight champion.

He beat Bowe, Tyson, an aged Foreman who would stand a great chance at winning the HW title today. Plus many more.

            My vote goes to Holyfield.

Holyfield is above everyone on that list, with Rj far behind him at number two, everyone else after that is just an opinion

The question is not who is greatest, the question is who will be remembered as greatest those are not the same things.

Holyfield is not that memorable by and large~ sucks for him because the quality work he put in. Roy Jones despite his greatness he just never quite had that resonance with the public the same applies to Mosley and B-Hop but in the end B-Hop will get remembered more than Jones because of his longevity. JMM will probably fare well in long term memories he just never had that mass appeal during the best part of his career either.

That would leave two and I don't feel like getting in to separating them but both those guys had higher Q ratings than the rest thus will be the most remembered put them in the order you want.

Just something to keep in mind, who gets remembered more Tyson or Holyfield~ Tyson but who had the better career~ Holyfield.
