What exactly are you arguing? That I should be more impressed with looking unbeatable against lesser fighters than looking beatable but winning against greater fighters?

What about someone like Roy, who looked unbeatable against better fighters than Mayweather, Pacquiao, Mosley, Hopkins, or Marquez fought? What exactly is the argument for any of those fighters being greater than Roy Jones?

While I'd agree that Holyfields resume is slightly better then Mayweathers,I would have to disagree with you that resume is the only thing that determines greatness...Floyd has been the P4P Champ for how many yrs??Even when Manny took it over a lot of people still viewed Mayweather the P4P king because he was never lost the his place...Not to mention the dude has won straps in different weight classes and last but not least what he has meant to the sport...I'd have to go with May based on the names on the list...

I like Floyd and Manny's resume over Jones.

No I don't really consider Bert Sugar I legit historian, to be honest. I actually met Bert Sugar a few years ago, and we had quite a discussion that became quite heated But that's a tale for a rainy day.

It certainly is, though. Popularity being stained on a fighter's resume is a great way to put it. It's no coincidence back in 2008, before the Oscar fight, he wasn't considered to be on any Top 50 ATG lists despite the great work he had done up to that point.

In terms of you clarifying what you mean by Pacquaio doing things that no one has done and how that differ's to Hopkins now and Oscar a few years ago, I must have missed it. And I don't see how there situation and Pacquaio's differs and all 3 are irrelevant in regards to what's being questioned.
            It's cool.

So what are we discussing here? I'm talking about Pac's position on an ATG list which incorporates many criteria. If we're talking about the greater fighter in the sense of who's the greater student of the game, more complete fighter... definitely Holyfield.

I agree with you on DLH-Pac and what followed thereafter, how he's viewed in today's world. If he ever cracked top 20 that would most definitely be based on popularity rather than resume/achievements etc.

What differs with Pac and Hopkins/DLH is that they weren't champions in half of the total divisions in boxing.

Who you beat and when you beat them should matter more than anything else. I cannot believe people are arguing otherwise. Who beat the better fighters matters more than anything else.

Floyd has beat Genaro, Manfredy, Corrales, C. Hernandez, Chavez, Castillo, Gatti, Judah, Baldomir, De La Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, and Cotto.

Pacquiao has beat Sasaul, Ledwaba, Barrera, Morales, Solis, Marquez, D. Diaz, De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, and should have a clear W over Bradley.

Jones beat Hopkins, Tate, Toney, Griffin, Hill, Grant, Johnson, Hall, Hardin, Gonzalez, Kelly, Woods, Ruiz, and Tarver.
