sometimes when ppl talk about the "no mas" situation..they act as if leonard was beating duran and duran couldnt take it anymore..what happen was leonard would throw a jab..then run away from duran...like duran was ****ing julian jackson or something..and duran got tired of chasing him..leonard was a very boring fighter

i can't back it up but years after this fight took place i read an interview where someone working durans corner or someone who knew someone working durans corner stated that after duran torchered himself making weight he went out and had a huge steak supper leading him to embarresingly **** his pants during bout.

i know this is skimpy on facts but at the time it sure did answer all questions on the unbelievable "no mas" duran pulled so early in the fight.duran was a killer and for him to quit like that was more than far out.

hah it wasn't that simple. you just compared cory spinks to leonard too whats wrong with you? leonard was a crafty son of a ***** and was doing a lot more to duran than "running"

You wanna know what happened when most on this board are gonna tell you what happened even though they don't know what happened? Now a few of you boys gotta clue.

Let's put it this way, Duran has always been a macho pig and bully. He completely humiliated Ray before the 1st fight and pounded out any claim to Sugar he had during the fight. Ray was badly beat up and ready to retire. He was talked out of retirement by Mike Trainer who convinced him they could get a poorly prepared Duran back into the ring for the right money so Ray started to see the makings of his revenge.

Ray was better prepared this time and Duran didn't have enough time to train down the pig part of him and entered the ring a weakened, bloated slug who Ray ran circles around. Bullies don't try to chase down faster prey, so Duran waved him off. The fight was a joke, a really bad joke on Duran who had more "pressing" business to attend to and he has never really lived that night down in spite of being a concensus HOFer. He could never make the welter limit again either.

This proves to me you haven't even seen the first fight. Lol, Duran beat the **** out of Ray. What have you been smoking??? Most Duran nuthuggers think Duran won by a point. I saw Ray winning the fight by a point & I'm not a nuthugger of Ray or Duran. Ray was badly hurt that's a nice one.

Ray stated how bad he was beat up in the first fight and layed the trap for Duran in the 2nd. His own words in the day. Read the interview in SI he gave on the two fights or get your little sister to read it to you.
