He may not have been on the verge of crapping all over the first two rows but what is so hard to believe about him not wanting to be punched in the gut??!
We will never have the answer for sure, but it's certainly a real possibility!Comment

Originally posted by DiegoFuegoAll right, I need some input here. Somebody tried to tell me Duran quit against Leonard in the rematch because he had to go take a ****. I think Leonard frustrated him to hell, and the bastard just had enough and quit. What happened?
Let's put it this way, Duran has always been a macho pig and bully. He completely humiliated Ray before the 1st fight and pounded out any claim to Sugar he had during the fight. Ray was badly beat up and ready to retire. He was talked out of retirement by Mike Trainer who convinced him they could get a poorly prepared Duran back into the ring for the right money so Ray started to see the makings of his revenge.
Ray was better prepared this time and Duran didn't have enough time to train down the pig part of him and entered the ring a weakened, bloated slug who Ray ran circles around. Bullies don't try to chase down faster prey, so Duran waved him off. The fight was a joke, a really bad joke on Duran who had more "pressing" business to attend to and he has never really lived that night down in spite of being a concensus HOFer. He could never make the welter limit again either.Comment

So shouldn't we frown on Duran for taking the big money fight even though he wouldn't be physically at his best? I mean, excuses simply are not tolerated in this sport. There is no excuse to not be properly trained and in shape come fight week. No excuse at all.Comment

Was Leonard beating the **** out of Duran? Maybe so. Duran obviously quit because he knew he couldn't win. It is no good. He'll be haunted by it forever. When he dies, the headlines will read "Duran says 'No Mas' to life."
Losing to Leonard isn't so bad. Especially if you gotta go crap.Comment
