Then you get to Canelo and you have people like you who say Floyd should fight him or he's a duck while at the same time there is the other half who say that fight is a joke and Floyd is a cherry picker if he fights him.

Thats why for me I would like to see Canelo get that big win 1st so no one can say anything. Lets also be real in saying that Floyd is not going to fight Sergio right now. The best case just about is Ghost now, the Canelo-Trout winner in September, and then Sergio in May of 14 if he's still on top

Canelo provides no legacy-value, and I do consider it a cherry-pick. Floyd is literally picking him out of all the other LMWs because of his fan-base and he has the green belt. Has Canelo beaten anyone of note? Has he made an attempt to clean out the division? Is he the indisputable #2? Absolutely not. The only thing fans hang their hats on is that he has a size advantage and that Floyd is getting older.

I do believe Guerrero is a cherry-picked opponent too, but at least he took risks to put himself in his current position, which is more than we can say for Canelo.

alot of people have. They think he hasnt beaten one top guy yet and they think most of the people he did beat were WW's and Jr. WW's. They say it all the time. Thats why I added a last paragraph to my previous post that you might didnt read. I think I and Floyd himself would rather him get one big win 1st so he could get more credit for it.

Its funny because people have been saying for a long time that Floyd is waiting to pick Canelo and thats a cherry pick. Now if he doesnt pick him they rip him for that. One thing you have to admit though is that Floyd is not scared of Canelo. You can debate all day about Pac or Sergio or even someone like Trout (even though I dont believe it) but you cannot say he is worried about fighting Canelo.

There is only 2 reasons why he might not fight Canelo right now. He might just want a non 154 pounder after the layoff and jail sentence or he wants Canelo to get that 1 big win 1st. Either way its easy to see that the plan is to fight him in September if not now

I normally don't post anything but, I can't help but to keep seeing people saying if Floyd fight Guerrero it's hbo worthy it's a garbage fight etc. Let's be honest as good as Martinez and Canelo are we only want to see those fights and give them a chance because they both have power and are much bigger. If they fought at 147 we wouldn't want to see the fight or give them a change. Why the double standards? and who should he fight?

Mayweather's standard should be fighting the best. Which is Martinez (Ward, IMO but closer to Floyd's weight) @154. Sergio's choice to chance being drained.

But at the same time, even with Floyds long layoffs- his jailtime should be took in consideration for his next bout- which is why The Ghost is perfect. While Guerrero looked great in his move up to WW, he is still new to the division. I remember reading about Robert's family medical issues, I'm glad his hunger got him this far. Is it enough to beat an aging Floyd, IMO I doubt it.

Canelo does not have the "boxing experience" to beat Floyd, he only has a small chance of a lucky punch. IMO.
