The only thing worse than the judges scorecards were Danny Garcia's sunglasses. Awesome fight and definitely better than Guerrero - Berto or Alvarado - Rios IMO. Cong**** Austin Trout - you deserved it!

Callin B.S. on this one. It was a sound out boxing, but not much of a beating. If so, I doubt Jr could have landed those punches like he did. I am a Martinez fan and absolutely hate Jr's antics and attitude, but he could totally steam roll Martinez in a rematch. (To be fair, he is a damn light heavy)

Chavez also outweighed him by 20 pounds.
Martinez had something to prove, he just put caution to the wind and got wreckless. He wanted to knock JCC Jr. out.
I wouldn't say it was a lucky punch, not at all. I also don't think it was all that difficult of a shot to make. Martinez got angry and wreckless, I don't think he'd make that mistake again.
Also, Martinez has fought the better opposition and fights in a higher weight class than Canelo.
I could see the odds being damn near even with Martinez having to cut weight, but I still think there's no way in hell Canelo is the favorite.

I always thought Trout would win because Cotto isn't a Jr MW. Trout is too big and strong for Cotto and it showed in the later rounds. Cotto is a WW, he needs to drop back down.

Cotto had a good run. He always seemed like a guy that achieved higher than his talent would indicate to me. Kind of in the same boat with Margarito, they have crazy heart and decent skills but at the top level their weaknesses are exposed. Trout was impressive. Him and Canelo is a good fight although it'll probably be a dull affair especially to the casual fan. Canelo is unproven but I see something I can't pinpoint in the way opponents get discouraged against him. Good to see fresh blood have their day.

well it looks like we got ourselves a new player at 154...i originally thought cotto would do okay at 154 cuz every fighter he's faced before at 154 he's looked good against, but i didn't even take into account that every one of those fighters with the exception of yuri foreman started below 154 and therefore aren't true light middleweights....cotto needs to move down to 147, or more likely, retire

trout beats canelo....just like cotto, canelo doesn't really have a defense, in fact cotto has better defense than canelo....trout can outwork canelo too cuz canelo doesn't tend to try to overwhelm his opponents with punches

agreed. remember when Arum was talking about Chavez Jr vs Cotto? Cotto would've been murdered in 5 rounds. People need to realize Cotto is not as serious about his boxing career as guys like Bhop and Mayweather. He blows up/chubs out in between fights and then has to drain back down to fight weight. the only reason he went up to 154 is because it's less of a hassle to get down to 154 than 147. his obvious stamina issues tell me he will never beat a top elite fighter again in his career
