Can someone educate me on this guy? I have frankly never watched him fight.
He's there to lose. Consider yourself educated friend.

      Richard Abril vs Gamboa ?
Abril fights at 135; Gamboa is fighting at 130. Besides, I'd personally not care to see two of my homeboys duking it out.

I think Yuri will fight a couple of the top dogs at 130. There really isn't much interest in that division. I would imagine that a champ or two would like a crack at a name like Gamboa. I don't see why Uchiyama wouldn't jump at the chance. I'd love to know who were the guys Moretti was talking about that turned down a fight with Yuri.
He'll run this division while he's there. Uchiyama is the only one I see, that is near his talent level. He named Attah and smaller names. It's relatively short notice, so I didn't expect too much. Just to where he can shake the rust off for now, then go big in 2013.

His performance vs DeMarco was impressive, but I still have faith in Yuri. Maybe I'll feel better after his fight in December

Now that you mention it, I think Abril has said he's not interested in fighting any Cubans.

They said it will be rescheduled though.

              http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...chilles-injury

Golden Boy said it is talking over options to reschedule the fight. Ralph Heredia, who co-manages Bogere with Jimmy Alex, told ESPN that they are hoping it will be rescheduled for January or February.

"Sharif has never really had injuries, so we're looking for him to have a quick recovery," Heredia said. "We want this fight."

Abril and Quillin already said they have no interest in fighting any other Cubans. Im pretty sure they all feel the same. We are too few to be taking each other out.

Lol! I realized that 30 seconds into the fight vs Uchiyama.

I know we all have high hopes for Gamboa but hes moving up in weight, has been inactive for a long long time & Farenas is not a bad fighter IMO

He has bags of experience, never been down or stopped, hes an awkward as hell southpaw & a very dangerous puncher.

He lunges in face/head first, his defense isn't great but this is a decent fight IMO given the circumstances. It really could be a lot worse.

Both Farenas and Jang down in round 2.
I still think this guy gets KOed or stopped on cuts.
