The best kinds of fighters are the ones who can do both.

Lennox Lewis outbox Holyfield in the first fight 10-2.(robbed)
Lennox Lewis simply stepped out and stomp Golota and Grant's faces in.
Lennox Lewis showed amazing boxing skills against Tua, winning 12-0
    Lennox Lewis stomped Razer Ruddock.

That being said, if Lewis was a pure brawler, even with his shockingly good inside fighting and his 6'5-6'6 frame. He won't have become a top 5 HW ATG.

You need to brawl against Wlad and box against Vitali. Guys who can do both usually end up better than guys who can only do one.

This is why I'm not 100% sold on Wlad. I do not know how he will react to an all out inside fighting war.

The other key reason is the trainer. Boxers have a much higher chance of becoming good technical boxers if their trainers are able to teach them those skills. But if your trainer teaches you a brawling style, that's how you'll fight. There are exceptios to the rule of course, but generally speaking the trainer can play a major role in how a fighter develops.
what horse sht are you spewin?

"boxing" is not any more difficult than ****ing "brawling"
if anything brawling takes alot more stamina and willpower
if the other guy is outsmarting you, it's because he's a step ahead of you, boxing(in general) wise, regardless if he's a brawler/inside fighter and you're a "boxer"
it's a matter of individual preference and also athleticism, if you are slow of reflexes, slow of hand, slow of foot, but are a sturdy and strong as an ox, then you play to your god given advantages and impose yourself on the other man, but you approach in an intelligent manner, with fients, and footwork

      boxing(in general) is about intelligence

despite what style you choose, you have to be intelligent to win
it's not, "oh, brawlers are just dumb brutes that swing for the fences"

You're an attention seeking clueless person.

You call manny pacquiao a brawler, Yet you replied to someone rather abruptly when they called castillo one...

So castillo is a pure masterclass technician now is he?

and for the record, chasing down and cutting off the ring vs a "boxer" takes much more intelligence and tactics than being on the outside and backpedaling like a "boxer" would

easy. their physical genetic makeup does not allow for it for the most part. margarito doesnt fight like mayweather because he wouldnt be good at it. now dont get it twisted marg could beat lesser guys and bums with a mayweather shoulder roll, but the elite level of boxing is so good, you have to do what you can. guys like rios cant try and counter with a guy like jmm. he would get eaten alive. his strategy doesnt mean he will win but fighting like that will give him a better chance than trying to popshot and outthink an elite counterpuncher like jmm.
