time and time again we learn that boxers > brawlers so why dont they change?

well years of boxing will tell you that 99% of the time the pure boxers or techniians will always beat these mindless brawlers,so why is it that guys like rios and mattyse and meidena dont learn from boxing history that theyre style wont amount to anything in the long run,,

once in a great while some will sneak thru the cracks and take a win but its very rare that u see this.i mean just look at manny pac who recently got exposed by both marquez and bradley, two pure boxers who made a dumb one dimensional puncher look clueless in the ring,in the same ring where these so call journaists and boxing website put him at #1 pound for pound.

peeps were proping up angulo for koing that bum in 1,yet put a guy like angulo vs someone like floyd and he gets picked apart like a dog. same with rios vs broner.yall can hype up all these mindless brawlers all u want but in the long run when they come up on some real ish they get taken apart and look clueles,

umm first of all moreno wasnt this so called boxer tecnician like ppl had him out to be,and second of all mares looked so horrible while beatin him. he has a come in head first and throw windmill punches and low blows. mares is such a sloppy boxer,hes not a pure boxer but hes not a complete brawlers either.hes just a damn low blowing robot with windmill punches.

For starters I would disagree your statement that 99% of the time it happens, but I do understand where you're coming from. Also I think Matthysse has underrated skills. Maidana is in the process of expanding his skills. Rios, yeah can't disagree.

To answer your question I think it just boils down to the fact that they've been boxing for years with a certain style, and changing it would only cause more problems for them. Why change your style when its worked in the past? A Rios can't just suddenly decide he's a boxer and outbox Marquez. He has a much better chance koing him than outboxing him for a decision.

Another factor is while brawlers may lose a few matches against the technical guys, I think you could make a case that the guys who have a exciting style bring in more money win or lose than technical guys who just focus on winning.
