As i've already said... Purse splits are always directly proportional to the boxers POPULARITY... That's why an Oscar who was already on a decline and who had already numerous losses when he fought Floyd, still got the big Lion's share in their purse split... Gate wise and PPV wise, Floyd and Manny arguably now is way above all the rest... So Manny offering a 55-45 split now in favor of Floyd, like most experts say is already Manny being unfair to himself...
Again, pac will never receive a fair share due to saying no to a fair share that was already offered to him. No matter how you try and cut it, it just won't happen. However when Bob is ready, you will see Bob make sure that Pac gets paid while Floyd gets what he wants, aka the lions share. You'll see just as soon as Bob exhausts all his other options first.

But, you can stick to your $1 dollar logic because Bob always makes sure Pac gets paid $1 right? lol

But as far as the 55/45 deal, his point is that Manny pitched out that offer and not Arum. Has Arum come out and said publicly that 55/45 is acceptable? That's what it comes down to. Manny can say whatever he wants. But it doesn't mean anything because it's his boss who has the final say.
thats true - but it doesnt matter bc even if arum does, floyd will say 55 isnt good enough. there will always be an excuse, wheter its arum or floyd, thats wat bothers me about the whole situation

that makes sense. bc pac declined an offer in '09, there can never be fair negotiations again. ok. il let that speak for itself

There won't be and hasn't been because boxing is a business and busniess is busniess and not always fair.

However like I have said, Bob will make sure all parties are happy just as soon as he exhausts all his other options first. He's been making fights for decades, he knows what he's doing.

In the meantime he will feed simpletons the logic that Floyd is scared (hyping Manny) while milking Manny vs his guys and in the end, will cash out and make the fight that nobody will want to see but will pay for it anyway. Bob will win as people WILL pay no matter what year it is.

At the end of the day, Bob has always had an agenda and when he is ready, Floyd will be on it. Just wait for Pac's last fight. You will see.

I'll be the first to admit Floyd has created a lot of barriers that have prevented this fight from taking place.

But how soon we forget that it was Arum who danced around the May 5th date because:

Pacquiao's cut wouldn't be healed in time

He was seeking money from investors from Singapore

He wanted to build a temporary stadium on the Las Vegas strip that wouldn't be completed by May 5th.

Floyd deserves his share of the blame but Arum is equally responsible. I believe Pac is the only one that cares if this fight happens or not but unfortunately he has the least amount of power out of all the parties involved.

I think when it comes to purse split, Manny always has the last say.. Coz remember during the Hatton negotiation, Hatton was all for 50-50, but Manny was insisting 51-49... Then Bob gave in by making it 51-50 with the 1% coming out from Bob's own pocket just to make the fight..

                  • Manny Pacquiao needs to try to avoid those Marquez straight right hands. There's been no reason for a fighter like Floyd to avoid Pacquiao after his last 3 performances. Floyd is avoiding Bob Arum, he doesn't want Bob getting a penny from his fights.

Obviously boxing is a business - but thats the problem. why should fans care about that. fans shuold demand the best fights and let the promoters and managers take care of the business end. a fight that the public wants should ALWAYS happen - b/c its a business - it will make the most $.
and, if its a business, then the 1st rule of business is negotiate in good faith. If 1 side turns down a fair offer, it doesnt mean that there can never be another fair offer - thats making it personal - not business
