This whole time people were throwing Poons name around as an opponent and now this dude is criticizing the move... A Donaire fan... Go figure.

        -Lopez/Ndlovu fought on the 27th
        -Vasquez fought on the 6th
        -Gonzalez fought on the 27th
-Montiel is gonna fight on the 24th
-Bakhtin is gonna fight on Dec.15

Darchinyan fought on Sept. 29, a little too close to the fight date. Vic has only one recent fight @122 where he beat Orlandito, and WBA ranks him at #8. Terrazas would've made more sense since they're fighting in Texas, but he's WBC. Light brought up Agbeko. Well, he lost his last two to Mares, and has been off for a year. He's also not ranked by the WBA. Poonsawat is the best all-around option. He's a veteran who's ranked #3 by the WBA, and is coming off 7 straight wins. His quality of opposition doesn't seem special, but he's 48-2. Seems like a solid opponent on the surface.

Can anyone recommend some fights of his?

Satoshi Hosono, Kimaru (who just fought Chris John), Bernard Dunne, Ricardo Cordoba.

Particularly his fight with Dunne which was a belter whilst it lasted.

I didn't throw his name around, he's a solid fighter but Rigo could have fought a better opponent, like Agbeko who called him out. I guess ducking only applies to fighters that Rigo calls out but not to Rigo himself.

The first Mares fight was controversial and losing to a proven elite fighter like Mares doesn't disqualify you from fighting Rigo. Matter of fact Argbeko's resume is still better than Rigo's. Unless you work for the WBA why would you care about their rankings?

Similar to how you did with Nishioka then?

You genuinely think Agbeko is better than Poonsawat?
Career Bantamweight who has arguably lost his last 6 fights & been inactive for what would be over a year...

well poonsawat is 31 with 50 pro fights i think, and he has the type of style that doesn't really guarantee longevity.

his most recent fight (2011-08-09) i could find of him..poonsawat in the white shorts.
