I really like Rios, but hes not ready for pacman at this stage in his carrier. I don't want to see him get damaged like Margarito because it would end his carrier early getting a beating, he still has other fighters to deal with that are young and can make a name for himself. Rios could take on most guys and win with his style, but Pacman is on another level that I think its not wise for Rios to take.

Larry Merchant loves it when fighters go toe to toe and defend punches with their face so I'm not surprised he says this. He's always had disdain for defensive fighters because in his eyes that's not prizefighting or whatever. Let them make the fight. Pac will get that KO that he hasn't gotten in a while and probably fail to get when he fights JMM again next month.

because of Rios' personality and fighting style some people will always underestimate him and look at him as a dumb brawler but Brandon Rios is special! He has IT! Whatever IT is, intangibles, he has them, just like Manny Pacquiao has them, you can't pin point what it is, but its a combination of many qualities outside of speed and power that make someone special in boxing

Problem is, the media, let alone the pac-tarts will shred manny a new one if he fights Rios because that would mean Pac would be fighting another guy who doesn’t belong at WW nor has he ever fought there, let alone winning a title.
