This fight would go to a decision for the home town fighter

In the UK the judges would give it to Calzaghe because of workrate

In the U.S. they would give it to Ward because hes a technician

Yea right. If you call landing one good shot every three rounds "over and over". He might have been able to get a close win if he was more active. You can't just sit there and not do shit against a high volume puncher.

For me the fight was a typical Hopkins snoozer anyway.

Not to mention after Calzaghe he put on a rare crowd-pleasing performance against a younger, hungrier fighter. Namely Kelly Pavlik.

Silly guy, if it were in the UK ward would lose by tko. Ref would stop the fight while calslappy is furiously slapping ward's gloves.

excellent use of hyperbole but reality says otherwise. he landed several good punches every round which last I checked is more than the zero calzaghe landed in most rounds. missing does take skill though right? which scoring criteria does that fall under again? hopkins doesn't get any credit for defense(actual scoring criteria) but calzaghe gets credit for failing! perfect!

I think Calzaghe is the more athletic of the two, definitely the faster of the two, and has better stamina.

Ward has a very high ring I.Q. but I haven't seen anything to suggest that he's smarter than B-Hop.

Miranda, Bika and Green are neither slow european plodders nor weight drained hype jobs.

By the way isn't Froch one of your favorite fighters? Now you're dissing him just to downgrade Ward's resume?

yes but in the end it was only to make fun of calzaghe. the old set em up to knock em down routine.

Oh so now Calzaghe landed ZERO in most of the rounds. Talk about one needing to take a look at reality.
