Floyd probably dont think he can beat Canelo, as Floyid has an inferiority complex. Not matter how good people think Floyd is, Floyd dont think it. His actions dont marry up with his words and too many discrepencies


Floyd may sometimes huff and puff but its to hide how he really feels about his own abilities. Of course Floyd knows hes got good defense, but he knows he has to take punches sometimes andhe dont like that sometimes bit.

Floyd got rocked by one of the hardest punchers in boxing. A guy who broke probably the hardest chin in boxing in Antonio Margarito.

Floyd catches a very solid power shot and intelligently clinches to buy himself some time to clear his head. Floyd recovered and beat the crap out of Mosley. I don't see the problem here.

People don't seem to know what survival mode is. It's when you taste a guys power and you avoid him the rest of the fight afraid to get hit with it again. Not when you clinch for a little bit to recompose yourself, then continue where you left off. Floyd was never in survival mode, just trying to make it to the bell, if anyone was in the Mosley fight it was Mosley.

Floyd couldn't handle Canelo's power if they ever fight. Right now I feel Saul is too green for the most elite like Manny and Floyd but I see Manny being able to do better simply because he has an ATG chin while Floyd has a decent chin but retreats into his shell when hurt. Canelo might be the strongest 154 lbs'er in the world right now. Floyd right now probably wins a decision because he's a very good tactical fighter and would build enough points to decision this kid but like i said Canelo is not ready. Maybe in a year or 2 they will fight. Floyd has taken so many breaks he's a young 35 in ring years so I don't see wear and tear being a problem. It would be a good fight and might even cement Floyd's legacy since he won't fight Manny. Every legend has faced serious adversity and proved where they belong maybe Floyd can do that. Who knows?

I love Canelo and think he's a talent, but ame me 1 54 fighter he's fought. How about he fights Vanes or Lara first, then we can see how much power he has. And how soon these micro wave, fly by night boxing fans 4get him getting rocking by Cottos older bro.

Floyd now? Maybe... I used to think Floyd would beat Canelo fairly easily but the truth is Floyd has lost his legs. Canelo isn't a great pressure fighter but he doesn't need to. Getting Floyd against the ropes won't be a hard task.

Canleo packs power and has surprisingly fast combos.

This is true. And Im amazed it took damn near 10 pages before I got to you post that stated this, because it was discussed at great lengths on this site before the Floyd/JMM fight was signed, and most on this site either said "who is this Canelo kid", or they said it was far too soon for him to get a fight with Floyd and condemed Floyd for even considering the fight. Looks like Flyod acually did know what he was doin and tipped his hand to what Canelo was being groomed to become before half of this site even knew who the kid was. I will be greening you for this, awesome post bruh.
