canelo wins easy. he throws the type of combo punches that floyd can't defend against as we saw in the cotto fight and floyd's legs are gone as we also saw. he would batter him against the ropes till he got the stoppage. he's faster, stronger, younger, punches harder, has better stamina, is a natural 154 pounder and is hungrier than cotto and cotto was competitive for the entire fight. cotto could have won that fight if he just had that little something extra. canelo has that little something extra in every category. floyd's going to have to wait till devon alexander or malignaggi is available if he wants another easy 30-40 million against another hand picked opponent. the older and slower floyd gets the more he has to screen his opponents. canelo is out.

Floyd had said he will be fighting five more times before he reaches 37 when he was promoting Cotto. He'll be 36 next year. I'll be expecting him to make an announcement any time soon.

Manny is still the most dangerous fight for Floyd but if he continues to avoid Pac then in a year or 2 Canelo would be primed for the fight. In ring years Floyd is far younger than his actual age that and his long rest periods have effectively extended his prime. If he chooses to fight once a year and refuses to meet manny in the ring then I say he picks another acceptable welter like berto, etc and fights Canelo in 2014.

It's possible he might right now because he's 22 and a work in progress but in 2 years with more development he might be a handful for anyone.

Floyd couldn't handle Canelo's power if they ever fight. Right now I feel Saul is too green for the most elite like Manny and Floyd but I see Manny being able to do better simply because he has an ATG chin while Floyd has a decent chin but retreats into his shell when hurt. Canelo might be the strongest 154 lbs'er in the world right now. Floyd right now probably wins a decision because he's a very good tactical fighter and would build enough points to decision this kid but like i said Canelo is not ready. Maybe in a year or 2 they will fight. Floyd has taken so many breaks he's a young 35 in ring years so I don't see wear and tear being a problem. It would be a good fight and might even cement Floyd's legacy since he won't fight Manny. Every legend has faced serious adversity and proved where they belong maybe Floyd can do that. Who knows?
