i would love to see serg vs. floyd tho. but i have my doubt about serg making 154 and floyd would indeed be the much smaller man, thats a very risky fight for him, just as ward is a very risky fight for martinez. to me its the same situation and i like all 3 fighters. whats funny is hearing ppl act like its not.

Just read it, and I didn't see where Ward explicitly says, "I would fight him at 164". He says, "I like it" which can mean that he likes the match-up itself.

Ward won't go down to 160, which is completely understandable. Sergio could probably fight at 168 against Ward, but he doesn't want to. So let's leave it at that and move on.

I see a certain fanbase claiming its the same. So I have a few questions to set this debate straight.

How many times has Martinez competed at 168??

How many titles has Martinez held at 168??

Has Floyd ever competed at 154??

Has Floyd ever held titles at 154??

Why can't Floyd & Martinez meet at 154 to fight??

How does a certain fanbase claim that Martinez moving to 168 is the same as a 2 time champion at 154 (Floyd) fighting Martinez at 154??

Floyd didn't weigh the max weight either time when he fought at 154. Sergio can fight Ward for the 168lb title but not weigh the max at the weight.

floyd went to 154 to fight champions that generated huge income. should sergio fight ward in a 168 max fight, its for the same reason.

The reason for the fights happening are exactly the same even though the circumstances are not.

Call me old school but I don't want to see the middleweight champ anywhere but middleweight~ if Floyd wants to go to 160 to see him cool that would be great and he would likely lose but that isn't required.

It would be ok at 154, but it loses a lot of it's luster historically and Sergio probably will be broke at 154, that **** is obvious look at him at 160 does it look like he has a lot to give plus dude is going on 38 plus has been in a string of fairly rough fights to just expect him to be able to do what he was able to in the past is being real naive.
