Serious question. How is Martinez/Floyd the same as Martinez/Ward?

i would love to see serg vs. floyd tho. but i have my doubt about serg making 154 and floyd would indeed be the much smaller man, thats a very risky fight for him, just as ward is a very risky fight for martinez. to me its the same situation and i like all 3 fighters. whats funny is hearing ppl act like its not.
This is honestly the first time I'm hearing that, good to know.

I dont think Martinez at 154 will be a tough fight. Its not.
Soooo why exactly are you so opposed to the fight happening?

Just read it, and I didn't see where Ward explicitly says, "I would fight him at 164". He says, "I like it" which can mean that he likes the match-up itself.

Ward won't go down to 160, which is completely understandable. Sergio could probably fight at 168 against Ward, but he doesn't want to. So let's leave it at that and move on.

How many titles has Martinez held at 168??

Has Floyd ever competed at 154??

Has Floyd ever held titles at 154??

Why can't Floyd & Martinez meet at 154 to fight??

How does a certain fanbase claim that Martinez moving to 168 is the same as a 2 time champion at 154 (Floyd) fighting Martinez at 154??
Floyd didn't weigh the max weight either time when he fought at 154. Sergio can fight Ward for the 168lb title but not weigh the max at the weight.

floyd went to 154 to fight champions that generated huge income. should sergio fight ward in a 168 max fight, its for the same reason.

The reason for the fights happening are exactly the same even though the circumstances are not.

                • Call me old school but I don't want to see the middleweight champ anywhere but middleweight~ if Floyd wants to go to 160 to see him cool that would be great and he would likely lose but that isn't required.

It would be ok at 154, but it loses a lot of it's luster historically and Sergio probably will be broke at 154, that **** is obvious look at him at 160 does it look like he has a lot to give plus dude is going on 38 plus has been in a string of fairly rough fights to just expect him to be able to do what he was able to in the past is being real naive. I am not worried about Floyd losing at all under those conditions but watching a dude fight out of his element (being good enough to win fight at a weight class does make that guy really belong to that weight class, so if Sergio is a small MW Floyd is a small WW so him moving to JMW would make him microscopic, kind of like the excuse of Sergio being to small for 168 but at least Floyd did test those waters using that against him and as a shield for Sergio is a broke ass starting point) against another dude who clearly will not be at his best.

It would essentially be a sideshow, and I don't want to see the best fighters in a sideshow fight, if that is your cup of tea cool I don't see why people need to agree~

                    When did I say that?

Im on record saying if its at 154 then fine. But if it doesnt happen I wont be in here screaming bloody murder and calling Floyd every duck in the book.

This fight isnt a fight that has to happen just like Ward-Martinez Im not going to kill the guy iof he doesnt fight Martinez.

And as of today NEITHER camp has tried to make the fight. FACT.

                    • It is the ****ing same.

You been pushing this agenda forever. You cant say a WW is ducking a 160 Pounder. Its just trolling.

How can you get on Floyd for not fighting Martinez but not say a WORD about Martinez moving up? It doesnt work like that be consistent. Martinez hasnt even tried to claim 154 as much as his "fans" do. He hasnt been there since 2009. Let that sink in.

You agree with Ward and say Martinez is too small for him then you ignore the fact that Floyd is a small WW let alone JMW.

Then you also ignore the fact that Martinez has not said anything about fighting at 154. He hasnt fought there since 2009. Hes not about to start now.

It is the same. The site kills me sometimes. People just want to be bitter about something. No one on this site knows if he can make 154 healthy. No one.

Boxers say they can all the time i.e Oscar and Dawson. The only name fighter that has went down without being drained recently is Judah.

Dawson paid the price. If Floyd fights a drained Martinez he just wasted his time. YOU know that. He wont get credit. Even Floyd is in tune with writers and critics. Look at Ward-Dawson.

Martinez hasnt even mention Mayweathers name since he won. He called out Cotto for a catch weight fight. He cant make 154. He knows Mayweather is too small for a cw MW fight.

Alvarez unlike Martinez HAS been fighting at 154 pounds. No one is saying Alvarez is a world beater but he is a JMW. Martinez is not.

Floyd himself is not even a real JMW. 151 pounds? Really bushbaby?

You guys whine and cry about Junior being heavy then disregard the fact that Martinez would be a SMW on fight night. Keep it real man.

Then on top of everything Alvarez-Floyd is not signed yet. And even if it is how is he ducking a 160 Pounder who hasnt fought at 154 in years, yet claims he can make the weight then calls out Cotto?

                      Gimme a break.

How many years does Martinez need to fight at 160 Pounds before you realize that hes a Middleweight now? After a while that weight gets hard to take off.

Floyd couldnt even get down 144. You grow into the weight man. Sergio is walking around at Cruiser weight. Why do you ignore that?

Martinez fans are using a fighter who doesnt even fight at 154 to drag Floyds name through the mud. Its sad.

If Martinez signs to fight Junior again you wont make ONE thread getting on Martinez for it.

Let me ask you this. Who is the better fighter Canelo or Chavez? .

                      You know the answer.

                      Stop trolling.

How can you knock Floyd fighting Canelo but not knock Junior for a rematch if it happens when CANELO is MUCH MUCH better than Chavez.

                      Makes no sense.

He didnt give this a response either.
