[QUOTE=Bushbaby;12530201]Ye Floyds a 154 Champ, but he beat Cotto(my 1# fav) a Career WW, and Cotto beat 1 Career JMW to get it and then fought blown up welters! He didn't beat Lara, Kirkland, Vanes, Trout! The Fact is Floyd is still unproven at 154 so your argument falls apart. So ****ing what if he hasn't fought there? Duran won a world title jumping 2 weights against a supreme champ in Leonard, your wrong man accept it. And BTW i prefer the fight at 160! Every fighter should want to be the greatest and thats how you prove it!
Serious question. How is Martinez/Floyd the same as Martinez/Ward?

I believe he weighed 157 for the Macklin fight also.
Why would I need to reach for anything? Im a boxing fan who wants to see a fight between two of the best fighters in the world.

Sergio didn't allow Chavez to wreck him on the inside like many thought he would. He probably doesn't have a complete inside game like Mayweather, but he's far from Amir Khan. Floyd is not above getting caught with shots himself, saw how he got caught ******ly by Cotto with a jab in the middle of the ring? Everyone gets caught, it's just that Floyd is more defensively responsible. Martinez dropping his hands is an invitation for a counter and I doubt Floyd will answer that door often. We know Floyd likes to force southpaws on the back-foot, but that's where Sergio desires to be. Floyd's high guard during these moments leaves him vulnerable for a straight left, and Sergio is fast enough and long enough to land it. Both are ring generals, so this fight is extremely intriguing to me. I would only choose Floyd because I've learned to never pick against him, but a 100% healthy Martinez @154 is capable of winning.
Sergio moved up because he found a great opportunity in Pavlik, and LMW wasn't the hot-bed for talent like it is now. After he beat Williams, he was calling out Mayweather/Cotto, and hasn't stopped ever since.Comment

Are you telling me that you're unaware that he's a 2 time 154lb champ??
I'm wrong?? But aren't you the 1 comparing Duran to Martinez?? Who does that, like seriously?!Comment

A two time champ? So Sven Ottke was a two time champ! He beat Oscar and Cotto that's it no more no less, he's about as accomplished at 154 as Pacquiao is at 147, Im a floyd fan but he hasnt done **** at 154Comment

he said it after the froch fight if im not mistaken. im positive it was said. either way, if serg wanted to challenge himself he would absolutely fight ward. thats a big fight, as long as both fighters are willing to make it happen it could. i think serg would lose, but thats a better fight for him than floyd as far as challenges go. there is no doubt about that.
i would love to see serg vs. floyd tho. but i have my doubt about serg making 154 and floyd would indeed be the much smaller man, thats a very risky fight for him, just as ward is a very risky fight for martinez. to me its the same situation and i like all 3 fighters. whats funny is hearing ppl act like its not.Comment

From another site.
"WBC Diamond middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (48-2-2, 27 KO’s) is open to the idea of facing WBA/WBC middleweight champion Andre Ward (25-0, 13 KO’s) in 2012, albeit with the help of a handy catchweight, according to ******. Martinez is already scheduled to fight Mathew Macklin on March 17th, but once that stay busy fight is out of the way, Martinez will be free to make the fight with Ward if he’s really serious about wanting to fight him.
Martinez told ****** “I don’t know about 168 pounds, but it’s an option.” Read: it’s the option of last resort. Don’t look for Martinez to take the fight at the full weight. He won’t do that, and the fight will have to require that Ward sacrifice some of his own natural weight if the bout is to be successfully negotiated. A reasonable catchweight would be 164lbs. That’s a doable number for Ward I imagine. If Martinez comes with something like 162lbs, then you’ll that he wants no part of facing Ward and is just looking for a way out.
Ward wants the fight, saying to ****** “I like it.” Ward has a mandatory coming up for his WBC title against unbeaten Anthony Dirrell (24-0, 21 KO’s), so it could take a step aside payment given to Dirrell in order for the fight to go ahead. But then again, it’s the WBC so it may not even be necessary.
Martinez wanted to fight WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., but he’s been skipped over for a fight due to Chavez Jr. getting permission from the WBC to fight Marco Antonio Rubio on February 4th.
Ward says he’s going to make a decision about who he’ll fight next after the New Years. He just finished beating Carl Froch in the Super Six tournament by an impressive 12 round decision. "Comment
