I like this fight a lot more than a rematch.

Same here, apart from the money involved, the Jr rematch makes little sense unless people wana see kid Chavez get beaten even worse second time round. And it's not as if Martinez will be getting short changed with Cotto, the man is the last half decades third highest grossing PPV star, if he doesn't get Floyd or Pac, Martinez couldn't ask for a more financially viable fight.

And my two pence ( Martinez devours Cotto, coming from a Cotto fan).

Martinez likes to control the fight with his jab and footwork. Cotto cuts the ring as good as anyone in the game and has a better jab than Martinez. Martinez dont like it to the body, and his chin aint all that. He's been hurt and or drop in most of his fights since Cintron. Cotto would control the pace and hammer Martinez to the body.

If Cotto's Conditioning is as good as it was vs floyd or close to it, Martinez gets beaten up. Its not like Cotto will win every run and then stop Martinez, but you'll see a early close fight and then mid rounds Martinez face starts looking like that dude from the goonies.

My prediction Cotto TKO9 in a very close fight in points till that moment!

You make it sound like Cotto dosen't have a chance to lose, your a MOJON in my book! Talk what's the truth,it would be a very good fight! both have a chance to win. If Cotto moves up to middleweight he loses to Martinez, but if the fight at a catch weight that's a little more better for Cotto it could go either way MOJON.

What Martinez is saying makes absolutley no sense if martinez were soo sure of himself why on earth would he not fight a guy he beat easily for the most part????
Martinez to be fair did suffer the major injuries sounds like hed rather have an easy opponent,What a coward! hed rather not take a risk after that final round,and thats Obvious..Im NOT saying Chavez JR would necessarily win Im saying his Chances dramatically went up! And thats a risk that bothers , Martinez and doesnt obviousley want to take.
cotto- martinez wouldnt make the same amount of buisness nor would it be a good fight because we all know thats an easy ko win for Martinez ,cotto is simply too too small,and past his prime.You have to be very delusional to see that fight ending any other way.

does'nt make me a difference wether cotto vs martinez happen. but i do see his point on the texas issue. they are dirty just like dirty bob arum. they let chavez get away with certain rules plus they allow cheato a boxing license. that crossed the line for boxing.
