Martinez to be fair did suffer the major injuries sounds like hed rather have an easy opponent! What a coward hed rather not take a risk after that final round, and thats Obvious.Im NOT saying Chavez JR would win Im saying his Chances dramatically went up! And thats a riskthat bothers Martinez and doesnt obviousley want to take,cotto- martinez wouldnt make the same amount of buisness because we all know thats an easy ko win for Martinez ,cotto is simply too too small, and past his prime. You have to be very delusional to see that fight ending any other way.Thats a slaughter thats manny pac 2 on steroids..
Fight someone good Sergio stop fighting career welterweights!
What? The only thing Martinez gains from fighting Chavez again is money whereas if he fights Cotto, Alvarez (not in same class yet, but is viable opponent), or Mayweather he gets money as well as a chance to enhance his legacy. I think this is important to Sergio given his age.

What career WWs has Sergio fought? Also, I'm pretty sure Cotto is a JMW champ.

Sergio just fought a guy who outweighed him by 13+ pounds and dominated him. Cotto is also a much better boxer than Chavez Jr.

Well, he WAS one, and beating Trout will make a titlist again. Some Chavez fans would wanna claw Sergio's eyes out if he doesn't give a rematch to Jr, yet they fail to remember how Chavez got the belt in the first place.

      • martinez is absolutely right......in a rematch chavez takes a much worse beating and scumbag bob knows it, so jr. will need any advantage he can get, but martinez is the champion now and he calls the shots. if that fight's held in texas chavez jr. will be taking ped's all the way up to fight night. martinez vs cotto is a good fight while it last and people will pay to see it. that's good move by martinez to show he's holding the lions share of the chips. i wonder how great scumbag bob would feel about the rematch if team martinez demanded ost

        • I would rather see this instead of a rematch, Cotto won't be as easy to hit and he wont wait till the last round to throw punches

          • Let's be real and say Chavez doesn't deserve a rematch. Go to every article and read the comments and the huge majority will tell it like it is. Chavez got dominated for 11 1/2 rounds. The amount of **** riding that some of you Chavez fans do is crazy.

I like Cotto and thought he did damn well against Floyd but he isn't going to beat Martinez. And people who talk about how Martinez was stopped by Magarito are idiots. There a lot of champions right now that lost in their early years of boxing so shut the **** up.

            • I think boxingfan76 is the dumbest person on this board. The crap that comes out of your mouth is insane. How do you root for Chavez over Martinez? Before the fight Martinez put in work while Chavez missed training sessions and when he did decide to train his lazy ass did it in his damn livingroom. I mean, how can someone that looked as ****ty as Chavez looked deserve a rematch?

Fight someone good Sergio stop fighting career welterweights!Martinez is definitley shook, the longer he waits on an inevitable rematch the less it favors him,why on earth pass on a rematch that would be even more profitable for him??? Thats what hes been crying about all along now he doesnt want it????he wants money but he wants easy money, not cool.
What? Cotto may not be what he once was. However, he is still an elite fighter that is light years better than that fraud that Sergio beat up Saturday night.

                • Wont be suprised if Cotto vs Martinez doesnt happen. I love Cotto but I think he's going to be outpointed by Trout. That fight will also show that he wouldnt of had a chance against Martinez.

The big four to watch out for right now are Floyd, Martinez, Alvarez, and Cotto
                    Cotto vs. Canelo
                    Floyd vs. Sergio

Floyd in interviews always dismisses Canelo as a potential opponent. He said he needs more experience and a win over Josesito Lopez probably won't change Floyd's mind.
