  • Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez Prefers Cotto Over Chavez Jr. Rematch

WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez is not too sure of a fight rematch with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Dallas, Texas. On Saturday in Las Vegas, Martinez dominated Chavez for eleven rounds and survived a late knockdown to win a twelve round unanimous decision before 19,000 fans at the Thomas & Mack Center. Chavez's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, wants to stage a rematch next year in Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

I wonder who gets Cotto between Alvarez and Martinez

The big four to watch out for right now are Floyd, Martinez, Alvarez, and Cotto

Cotto-Canelo will square off leaving Floyd and Sergio.

      Floyd-Sergio is THE fight.

There will be a Cotto-Canelo rematch imo.

After the injuries and near final round KO, I can't blame Martinez for wanting to cash out when he can. Cotto will bring him a much higher pay day. Unfortunately for Sergio, it will also be a loss. Cotto won't run from him but engage in a war he won't be able to withstand.

Martinez likes to control the fight with his jab and footwork. Cotto cuts the ring as good as anyone in the game and has a better jab than Martinez. Martinez dont like it to the body, and his chin aint all that. He's been hurt and or drop in most of his fights since Cintron. Cotto would control the pace and hammer Martinez to the body.

If Cotto's Conditioning is as good as it was vs floyd or close to it, Martinez gets beaten up. Its not like Cotto will win every run and then stop Martinez, but you'll see a early close fight and then mid rounds Martinez face starts looking like that dude from the goonies.

My prediction Cotto TKO9 in a very close fight in points till that moment!

Too easy for Maravilla. He makes Cotto take a knee in the 10th.

We all know that Cotto don't want none. Maravilla dissed Cotto hard, and what did Cotto do about it?... He picked Mayorga. Ha.
