You think Cotto would be able to keep up with a healthy Martinez? You think he'd be able to withstand his power? I'm guessing Sergio hits a fair deal harder than Manny... Sergio is also a taller, bigger guy.

The thing with all the praises and all, Martinez still hasnt face somebody at Cotto's level or credentials!!
sergio has good razor sharp power in his shots why do you think a 185 lb

chavez jr only threw 300 something punches in the fight? he was terrified

to open up and go off his defense because he was getting slashed...

floyd has good buzzing power and kept cotto at bay, even hurt and wobbled

him a time or tow... cotto is a straight warrior, an excellent fighter all

around but sm and his razor shots at 160 will be too much for cotto....

floyd battered cotto a lot and floyd was 150 and doesnt have single shot

knockout power at 147 as sergio does at 160...

it would be a great matchup with the edge going to sm...

I do not like this fight. Greater fighters than Cotto are scared to death of Martinez. Why is that Cotto always gets tabbed to go where greater fighters dare not?? That's some backwards a$$ $h1t if we're being honest.

Cotto is a G!!!...those others got a scam going on...a bunch of frauds, thats what those so-called GOOD/GREAT dudes who are not willing to fight the BEST are

the promoters don't even believe in those dudes, thats why they get matched against dudes they get matched against...they say, thats how you build a fighter...well it doesn't make so sense to build a fighter if he's gonna get broken as soon as he's in with somebody who is TRUE to it and not USED and NEW to it!!...peep the sig, thats how you break a mofo...they built that big young bull up as the second coming of his dad just to see him get broke by somebody thats TRUE to his craft!!....the other dude gets it next...saying no names!!

Bro, I'm talking bout Floyd. That video when they said Martinez will meet him at 154, he said they can do it at 150 then he tried to pass im off to Dirrel at 168. That's what I'm talking about Floyd. The greatest duck ever, (behind Pacman).

Damn Cacique, taking it to far. At this stage I dont think he can handle Martinez speed and size.

But it is ****** to think that Cotto wont take the fight when recently he said he wants to fight the winner of Chavez/Martinez. Seeing now that Sergio will need time to recover from the injury, and if Cotto beats Trout and face Canelo in May, I see Cotto fighting Martinez next year around November or December. He wants that four title and Martinez is the smallest of all the champions.

                      Cotto v. Martinez

Cotto is far and away my favorite fighter of his generation. I DO NOT WANT HIM FACING MARTINEZ. Martinez is too big and too fast and would be landing the straight left all night. I don't think it's even close. I hope Cotto's pride doesn't get the better of him here.
