Wrong. Martinez was BADLY HURT and barely got up. He was lucky that wasn't the 10th or even the 11th round cause he would have been stopped. Thats why it is called almost being knocked out. Badly hurt means almost being knocked out.

Luckily for Jr, Sergio came in with the game-plan to slow him down instead of KO'ing him. Chavez's left eye ain't nuthin to be proud of, and yes, I do think he was flirting with permanent damage. Chavez gotta improve on his defense.

Chavez Jr could not do anything period until Sergio started to bring it down a lil and still try to go for the KO when he didn't have to. Chavez Jr couldn't and didn't do nothing because of Martinez skill set and adaptability. Chavez Jr got dominated. Chavez Jr put Sergio down but so did Pavlik and Williams and both them guys got soundly beat. Sergio got up and fought Chavez Jr back until the bell rung. Jr had his shot and couldn't pull it off. Rematch will just make him look worst. We can bet points on it if it happens.

Jr hurt Serg, Pavlik tripped him. If you can say Serg went for the ko, I can say Jr caught him. I'm not a fan of either fighter. I like both guys though. I want to see the rematch. Spinks beat Judah good until that last round. Judah hurt Spinks badly. He then kod Spinks in the rematch. Serg gets props because he traded, boxed, fought inside and kept Jr off balance. Great performance. I don't call Serg Chavez Jr domination. Serg out boxed Jr, but Jr almost caught up with him. My curiosity tells my conscience that a rematch is warranted. Fans think Jr can catch up to Serg. I say a ko can happen for either guy.

To say JCC will not improve from fighting a top 3 guy is pure ******. You have no idea what burns inside another man and to claim you do is arrogant and pompous. Martinez is 38 and has reached his ceiling, JCC can adapt and learn from a loss and it is far from out of the question that he could make adjustments and win or make a rematch much closer.

I have no idea what burns inside another man. But I bet I know what burns on the outside of Junior. And that would be all them lumps and bumps and bruises that Sergio beat onto his face.

Now, Jr walked through fire, but next time the flames will engulf him. Sergio fucked his face up with an injured hand, and the rematch will prove to be more brutal than the first.

those not wanting a rematch or think Jr is unworthy are just afraid that Chavez will knock Martinez out in the next one. Why wouldnt you want martinez to make another huge payday with another chance to outclass Jr?

And yet he still came on strong and had Martinez badly hurt and dropped him so you DO know what burns inside when a guy can do that with all those bumps and bruises. You answered your own question.
