No. it would'nt be warranted if it were an early knockdown ,but since it was a damn near knockout in the MOST IMPORTANT round of all you can bet your azz there will be a re-match because aside from the previous 10 rounds that sergio won the seeds of doubt and what -ifs have been sown,Even in the minds of Sergio fans especially in their minds because now they know this guy can be hurt and possibly ko'd by Chavez junior while Chavez fans know that martinez wasnt even able to shake this kid thats a big big differece , and agin if your martinez or chavez you have plenty to be embarrased about again almost getting KTFO in sergios case and losing in 10 rounds in Chavez jr will do that.

11 dominating rounds vs 1 haymaker that didn't KO Sergio for good. Rematch? I'll pass thank you.
There's a reason Arum wants this supposed rematch in Texas: Lax PED protocol, TR/Texas Judges, Tiny Ring, Texas (aka North Mexico). Forget that....Sergio made a name for himself now it's time to either take on Floyd, Cotto/Trout winner, or Canelo. Or even move up in weight and prep for a scrap with Ward at 168 by taking Aurthur Abraham's trinket of a belt. Then on to Ward in a P4P classic.Comment

I don't understand your logic. He survives almost a full minute with 2 injuries, yet the fight deserves an immediate rematch? You guys are trying so hard that it's ridiculous.Comment

So NOT getting KTFO and actually GETTING UP from a flush left hook at the hands of a Cruiserweight to finish out a lopsided win with a busted hand and knee is embarrassing?
GTFOH!Comment

Great post some much needed common sense to painfully obvious stuff and boxing 101 green kone round is definitely more than enough grounds to demand a rematch. it only takes one punch to change the course of a fight and one round has the potential of incurring a hundred punches just from one boxer. do the math. martinez showed how crafty he can get with his punches in bunches and footwork but his chin is questionable. martinez was dominating the entire fight but one punch from chavez, jr. was all it took to almost take it all away. so a rematch is definitely justifiable.Comment

Thank you for posting the video!! Martinez got up right away, walked straight to the ref, and kept on ****ing with Chavez who couldnt finish him even in his "weakened state". Another 20 sec Chavez would have KO him? He had over a minute to do it and couldnt. Martinez never ran, never got on his bike as some would say, he stayed in there and showed his heart. Chavez, the much bigger guy, just doesnt have the skill to hang with him. NO REMATCH until Chavez beats legit comp first.Look at what happens the last 20-30 seconds of the round, and look at Sergio's legs. Look at the punches that Chavez is landing on him as Sergio is against the ropes. This is the moment that Jr. and all his fans were waiting for, and what could he do? Nothing. The most vulnerable that Martinez has looked in the entire fight, and Jr. couldn't capitalize, he didn't have it in him.
If Sergio was as hurt as most people believe, then Chavez should've been able to stop him, it really is that simple. So either Sergio wasn't that hurt or he's Superman, or Chavez doesn't have power.Comment

If Chavez Jr beats any other middleweight in the top 10 then yes he deserves a rematch. He didnt deserve that POS belt he had and now he deserves an immediate rematch? Lost damn near every round and couldnt put away a small middleweight while he gets in the ring at light heavy or cruiserweight? GTFOH. Beat Geale, or Pirog, or Quillen or Golovkin and then MAYBE...Comment

Maybe mayweather will fight danny garcia or ponce deleon as those are the types of fighters he frequently fights.11 dominating rounds vs 1 haymaker that didn't KO Sergio for good. Rematch? funny thing is Martinez the supposed best middle weight around wants nothing to do with any of those guys and has flat out ducked them, and yet he almost gets KTFO by a guy frequently called every name in the book,no a rematch it is doesnt matter how hard sergo fans cry he damn near was decapitated. If Chavez Jr beats any other middleweight in the top 10 then yes he deserves a rematch.
