If Chavez starts earlier, two things can happen, he can get caught or he can wear Martinez down and stop him mid to late. Just because Martinez stopped other guys doesn't mean he can against Chavez. Count on it, Chavez will jump on Martinez from round one and pressure him and punch when Martinez does instead of following him and starting late. He knows he can hurt Martinez.

Im embarrassed for you and Martinez,I say dont knock a re-match martinez has nobody else to get this type of exposure anyhowm maybe chavez can turn it around maybe he cant ,but my lord dont praise one of the most embarrassing final rounds in a major fight, guy barley made it out of there, to say otherwise is ridiculous.

The most vulnerable that Martinez has looked in the entire fight, and Jr. couldn't capitalize, he didn't have it in him.
If Sergio is as hurt as most people believe, then Chavez should've been able to stop him, it really is that simple. So either Sergio wasn't that hurt or he's Superman, or Chavez doesn't have power.
its like saying"i got run over by a car and got every bone broken in my body but that car couldnt do shiat"
Sergio ran away all night he hit and ran hit and ran hes a runner,Maybe he can do it again without almost getting knocked out, but its clear theres too many factors involved,MONEY,Pride, the fact the kid is still young and developing and the fact that martinez isnt getting younger nor developing, and vulnerable and does have exploitable flaws, time isnt on his side, both these guys would be fools to not rematch .Theres an obvious course to a victory for chavez as clearly as there is one for Sergio and it was on full dispaly in this fight .Thats the reality.Last edited by boxingfan76; 09-17-2012, 12:31 PM.

The only reason a rematch would be warranted is if Sergio dominated Junior for 11-1/2 rounds and then got stopped in the last minute of the 12th round. And since that is not what happened no rematch is necessary. Unless of course you are a Junior fan and are clinging on hoping one happens out of utter despair and desperation.

Martinez showed tremendous heart surviving, but he suffered a broken hand and ligament damage to the knee, and was damn near stopped in the.12th-AFTER dominating for 11 rounds...and this fight doesn't deserve a rematch? Please.
