Its funny because I can bring back the threads of people saying he would never take that fight with Mosley after what he did to Margarito. Floyd and Manny has some of the dumbest haters ever. I can bet that if Floyd fights and beats Martinez the next thing people will say is that he should fight Ward. Floyd can't even make 154 due to him being a natural WW and people are trying to dictate his fights because they want him to lose so bad.
Aww, boohoo. Poor little Floyd Mayweather, how dare we want to see him fight the best fights available.

Don't be ***in spasticated. Mayweather is WBA Junior Middleweight Champion. Sergio Martinez is willing to fight him at Junior Middleweight. Why are you so worried?

My point is that people are trying to dictate who he should fight because they want to see him lose so bad, even if its at an unfair disadvantage. If he fights Martinez its cool with me, I think he would win. But you can clearly see the advantages he is giving Martinez and people are not taking that into a factor. I just don't understand this whole "Floyd is ducking Martinez" when the dude fights at 160 and probably comes in the ring at something like 165+. Do we need to forget the size advantage DLH had on Floyd? Dude was waaay bigger then Floyd in that ring and he still took that risk. Cotto isn't a big 154er and people love to forget that.

20 months I think but that was Mosley's own fault. He sat around waiting for a pay day instead of staying busy.
When the first Msyweather Pacquiao talks broke down tho, when Pac chose Clottey people started saying Floyd still wouldn't fight Shane. He did and schooled him. When Ortiz beat Berto people said he was too strong and a southpaw so Floyd wouldn't fight him, including Arum, look what happened.Floyd likes to fight someone coming off a big win cos it means money. You can't fault him cos there are not many fighters to face on Sergio's level

I'm not worried at all, I just don't like the idea of Martinez fighting a guy that's naturally 15/20 lbs lighter than him, and I don't like the idea of the middleweight champion moving down in weight. I guess you're more interested in watching Floyd lose than watching a fair fight.

I would rather see Sergio fight Mayweather simply because that would be Floyds biggest test ever and it will be interesting how this fight pans out. It would do big big numbers even if its at 154

There doesn't need to be a rematch between Martinez and Chavez Jr.

For 11 rounds he made Chavez look lost out there. A rematch doesn't prove anything. The only reason behind it is for Martinez to get another payday.

You think Floyd beats Martinez, yet for some strange reason you have trailer loads of excuses as to why they shouldn't fight at 154?? Makes no sense. If you think he'll win, then why wouldn't you wanna see him enhance his legacy??

C'mon Trinidad? I have a strong opinion here, this is the guy who got me into boxing. He shouldn't have been at that weight, he hadn't grown out 154 he just wasn't getting ripped anymore, i know it was 157 but Hopkins went as high as light heavy. So what if Gomez retired Gatti, Ali was retired by Trevor Berbick! Gatti went thru Wars, i would question Tarvers ability to do that, even in his prime. But dispite what I've said you haven't required one equal to the physical domination of Gatti or Corrales, even against nobodys , im not aware of hopkins ever looking amazing. I will admit i lacking of knowledge when it comes to B-hop fights but if there was a great one im sure i would know about it.

Really? interesting? Since Martinez is a natural counter puncher and Floyd's gameplan for lefties is to walk them down I think Floyd would be take the lead. What makes you think Martinez will find a home for his Straight left when Cotto couldn't land his hook? And also, how do you think is faster hand? feet?
I agree that Trinidad's best weight was 154 but Hopkin's win over Trinidad was still a great victory. Trinidad was rated by many as the #1 pfp fighter in the world. He had just crushed Joppy to win a middleweight tittle and he was a 4 to 1 favorite to beat Hopkins. I think Trinidad had some personal problems that hurt his performance but Hopkins fought a great fight and it was a great win. I saw all of Hopkin's fights and he did dominate top 10 middleweights in tittle defenses just as much as Floyd dominated Gatti and Corrales. He KOed Steve Frank in 1, Joe Lipsey in 4, John David Jackson in 7, Glen Johnson in 11, and almost killed Joppy in winning all 12 rounds of a beat down. These were all middleweight tittle defenses against top 10 rated middleweights. Hopkins had 20 successful defenses of his middleweight tittle before losing two very close fights to Taylor at age 40. As good as Floyd is I think Hopkins has achieved more in the sport of boxing.

In a nutshell. Floyd got himself in this position, he should've stayed at 147 and fought guys like Pac/Alexander/Berto/Bradley. What did he do? He went up in weight for the $$$. Canelo is comparable to Martinez in terms of weight, yet people wanna see Canelo/Mayweather, wtf is going on?

Ortiz came in 164 (for WW), Canelo comes in 164-170 (for LMW), and Sergio weighed 167 last night for a MW fight.

If Sergio can make 154 and beats Canelo, then there should be NO excuse if Floyd decides to stick around @LMW.
