I swore to myself I wouldn't think of weight as an excuse but it was just so plainly obvious.
Look Ward is a class above, he'd beat him at LHW too so I'm not trying to say anything like that.
But we have almost never seen Dawson really hurt by one punch to where his legs are gone for the rest of the fight. This is a guy who's fought Adamek, Johnson, Pascal, and Tarver, all MUCH heavier punchers than Ward. The weight most definitely affected his punch resistance. Dawson's never had an iron chin but Ward was shaking him with every clean shot, that's never happened to Dawson.

If weight wasnt an issue we wouldnt have weight classes
I already knew dawson was weight drained when i saw he rehydrated almost 20 pounds. I predicted the weight was going to affect him and is one of the reasons i bet on Ward.
I dont understand what the argument is here?

Dawson had literally no legs or energy from round 1. I had him actually winning rounds 1 and 2 but it was plentifully obvious he was drained. His legs were slow and he had no energy to not even move his head. His balance was way off.
I challege anyone to eat nothing for about a week but bread and water, very low calories while tranining, they will feel like **** and not be able to move.
Props to Ward he's a great fighter, but don't kid yourself Dawson was a zombie in there.
Just forget about it,Your not gonna convince those people who want to see what they want to see.
Me personally i felt that Scully should have talked Dawson out of moving down to 168 cause it was a big risk for Dawson and a lost for Dawson is also a lost for Scully. All that momentum Scully built up when he help Chad beat Hopkins is now lost. Now a lot of people are gonna say he`s a crap trainer.
Scully said he ask Chad is he sure he could make the weight and Chad said yes.But nobody is ever really sure if they can make a weight class unless they made it before recently.

I don't think the skill disparity was affected by the weight. But his punch resistance was not there at all.

I don't think there is any question that the weight affected Dawson. You don't go from taking shots from Antonio Tarver to getting dropped multiple times by Andre Ward just like that. However, I watched the fight again today and there is no doubt in my mind Ward would've won a wide decision anyway. Worked the little feints so well and took away that right hook early. Began firing that short left on the inside after he tasted a few rights in the second and the rest was history.

The whole camp said he was fine so why go to the built in excuse that Scully hates so much. If it was at 178 he might have survived a little longer that's it. Ward has a superior style. And all you poster trying to make excuses for him are pathetic. Just admit you where wrong for a change? How about that?

Antonio Tarver who was a heavyweight also said he could make the weight fine for the Hopkins fight but he wound up being weight drained,Chris Byrd said he could make Cruiserweight fine but he wound up being weight drained,Oscar said he could make the weight fine for the Pac fight but wound up being weight drained.Just because a fighter says one thing does`nt necessarily mean its true. The eyes don`t lie people do.
