Chad's got a family, he should avoid taking unnecessary punishment to look after them as best as he can. That's far more important than his standing in boxing.

Even a boxer with no family to look after should look after their health first. That shouldn't even be debatable.

The main problem that I have with Dwson's performance is not quitting in the later rounds after taking some good shots, but that it never appeared to me that he tried to win a round. Weight-drained is a theory, which would obviously be offered, but it cannot be proven to be the sole reason for his performance.

He threw few punches during the entire fight. He is known to have a low output in fights with contenders of his weight class, such as Johnson, who are much less skilled than Ward. Maybe Dawson just had no real game plan, and cannot deal with a crafty, skilled boxer like Ward.
