i haven't seen the fight yet but even if he did theres nothing wrong with playing it smart. dawson knew he wasn't able to get off and he didn't have it in him to KO the guy in the opposite corner.

he took the smart option which was live to fight another day - same as what vasquez did in his first fight with marquez, smae as ortiz in his last fight. nothing wrong with that and it doesn't make him a pu$$y.

Ortiz's quit was more justifiable though if we are ranking them. A broken jaw vs. a broken spirit, dawson clearly is worse.

Can't fault Chad's decision, he had now way of winning the fight, had nothing left to give and didn't need to take any more punishment. A man's health comes before our entertainment. He could have found away out after being dropped in the 3rd and 4th but he got up and battled on.

Respect to Dawson, he showed heart to go on as long as he did whilst getting completely dismantled by a superior fighter.
