He did? When? He fought Kevin daigle who was 15-9-1 at the pensacola fairgrounds in his 14th pro fight and then fought the #1 p4p fighter in the world at the mgm on a mega ppv for 12 rounds in his 15th fight? I don't think he did that at all.

Instead he moved to mw and fought lester yarboriugh who wad 12-16-1. Again at the fairgrounds and going 8 rounds. People are so underrating the experience factor.

People also talk about the Hopkins fight 2 years later like 2 years is nothing. You grow so much as a fighter in 2 years at that age. It's like a rookie qb vs a 3rd year qb. It's night an day. Roy is physically bigger, more experienced, and has a higher ring iq at that point

People still seem to make every case to push Mayweather as some solid 154lb fighter. He's fought two guys at the 154lb limit where he was no more than 150-151. He's not built for 154 for it to really be a competitive match...Roy was solid 154 with the speed and power to exceed.

If we're talking P4P, I might pick Floyd. But if you're pushing Floyd to as a 154lb fighter vs a 154lb Jones, I'd pick Jones.

There really are people who think Floyd is some supernaturally intelligent and versatile fighter that can adjust and fight any way against anyone. This is another thread proving that.

Floyd would wear down Roy Jones at 154, wow.

you are one who thinks in black & white. You dont always have to physically wear someone down. You can wear them down mentally. You are talking about a green fighter vs one of the smartest ever. Why cant people understand this? Its like they see prime RJ. This dude has 14 fights against all bums at his hometown fairground in which they all went about 2 rounds. That equates to him easily dominating the #1P4P fighter in the world in Vegas on PPV in a 12 round fight? I cant believe people think Floyd have no chance.

To be fair, I wouldn't just totally count Floyd Mayweather out, not saying that he wins either. But the ODDS here are crazy, like 40-1 odds that RJJ wins.

Then again, Miguel Cotto consecutively jabbed Floyd in the face 4 times in a row... that's just how smart Floyd is, it was part of his plan.

The bloody nose was to lure Cotto in.

Roy Jones Jr would make him look his age. He'd be bigger than him, he'd have fresh legs, he'd have the speed, power. All of those things would be to his advantage even stamina as Floyd is at an age where he has to be conservative about what he does in the ring.

Its a fantasy fight , that means the best Floyd is at 154 vs the best Roy who is 154 which probably is the 130 Floyd vs the 168 Roy only they both are 154 , they got to be the same size and at their best , its a bit fanboyism to say the 154 Floyd vs Oscar is the one that will fight the best version of Roy , if that aint bias I dont know what is .

Ability wise there is little between them at their best , both can compete with any fighter in the history of the sport at equal size , just because a fighter has fought at a weight doesnt mean thats his best weight , fantasy fights are about making them an imaginary equal size on their best night .
