Where do you rank Harry Greb?

LET ME SCHOOL SOME OF YOU HISTORIANS. i respect all of your personal opinions but some of you just don't know what you're talking about..........experts rate a fighter based on three things. accomplishments, memorable moments, & the overall talent that you see (it's always been this way) accomplishments is how good your resume looks (which greb has) memorable moments is the special fights. alis rumble in the jungle, robinsons valentine's day massacre, durans Brawl in Montreal.

these are things that inspire you & make you feel A special way when viewing it. (unfortunately greb doesn't have this at all)


& the last one (talent that you see) speed, power, skill, pressure, volume, chin. basically, how good does the fighter look. how good of a package is he? when you looked at a young tyson you saw the raw talent, tyson just didn't have the accomplishments & memorable fights. the same goes for prime roy.

no one knows how greb looked or how good of a package he was because we have none of his fights.


greb is a accomplished fighter but lacks footage so it's impossible for me to rate him in the top 5.........i find it difficult to put him in my top 10 let alone top 5............

it's a logical as that........i don't see how anyone can angry because of this.

based on accomplishments greb was a great fighter though......just no where near my top 5.

But you have the words of his contemporaries who did see him fight. It's fine if you want to throw out what the journalists said, since they might have exaggerated and weren't experts at analyzing fighters.

But you can't tell me that his fellow boxers didn't know what they were talking about. Especially the ones who were world champions.

Greb gave me a terrible whipping. My jaw was swollen from the right temple down the cheek, along the chin and part way up the other side. The referee, the ring itself, was full of my blood. If boxing was afflicted with the commission doctors that we have now, the first fight probably would have been stopped and no one would have heard of me today.

All i am saying is how can you rank someone YOU NEVER SEEN FIGHT?? and then insult people who dont agree with you??? I have seen Tunney fight and he was a great fighter..but i NEVER SEEN THE TUNNEY GREB FIGHT..sure he won but how???heard he was dirty as hell we simply do not know how that fight went nor any of his other fights...how can i say he is one of the greatest without EVER SEEING HIM FIGHT??
