Leonard could fight Duran 1000 times the same way like their first fight and Leonard would do well and lose 1000 times.
Leonard could fight like he did in fight 2 against Duran, and Leonard wins in 1000 times.
Who wins more, the Duran of fight 1 or Leonard of fight 2?
I say Leonard fight 2.Comment

This isn't a Hatton thread. Last Hatton comment.
And Floyd didn't THROW elbows at Hatton. He used it when Hatton grabbed or tried to grab his arm.
Don't pretend like Hatton fought clean nside like Julio Cesar Chavez, lmao.Comment

intoccable...no..no argument at all, regarding how sugar ray leonard, fought roberto duran in the first fight (actually i preferred the first fight)....i always knew, that sugar ray leonard, was a versatile fighter...i do believe that, sugar ray leonard, underestimated roberto duran's ring IQ, and infighting skills at a higher weight, and fought him unintelligently...Comment

frank ducketts, in the third fight between sugar ray leonard, and roberto duran, sugar ray leonard, intelligently boxed circles around duran, who was thought to be over the hill by the third fight, but when sugar ray leonard, tried to step in and go for the ko on roberto duran, he almost woke up a sleeping giant, and decided it was best to keep boxing his way to an easy decision...so frank ducketts, your observation, is spot on in my bookComment

intoccable, sugar ray leonard, didn't go to war against thomas hit man hearns, until angelo dundee, told him he was losing badly on the scorecards, and angelo dundee, knew sugar ray leonard, was being badly outboxed, by thomas hit man hearns...also, intoccable, sugar ray leonard, knew not to go to war with marvelous marvin hagler, because if he did, he might not have lived to tell about it...lolComment

Here is the mistake that many of us are making when judging these two legends.
Regardless, that was not the best Sugar that fought Duran in fight 1. Duran had a game plan, Leonard didn't. Durans aggression, stay in your face style, and cutting the ring off kept Sugar from boxing and coming in and landing his fast/hard combos.Comment

You can't say that Leonard was at his best in fight 1, and then give Duran an excuse for losing fight 2.
Can't have it your way. It insults my intelligence.
Be objective.Comment

Remember Leonard could box you...always had that in him, but he would move, and in a flash open up with blistering combos.Comment
