The casual audience will eat a Mayweather-Pacquaio fight up like no tomorrow.

Even at this point when both are past their primes, it will most likely still break records.

I just hope like hell that they have a classic fight at this point. Maybe I can trick myself into thinking that Manny has a chance.
I'm just saying they are coming off good "wins" and are still 2 of the Top fighters in the world. Manny isn't much different from 2010, the main difference is it was Marquez and Bradley, not Clottey and Margarito.

And sure got touched a little more against Cotto, but that's because of how Cotto fought him. When he decided he had the cut the ring off, he did, and forced Floyd to fight off the ropes a lot. The first 4 rounds, Floyd was soundly boxing him in the center of the ring most of the time. And when Cotto tired after his surge in the middle rounds, Floyd shut out the late rounds hitting Cotto with everything. Floyd wasn't fighting Marquez, who doesn't how to be the agressor when facing a superior boxer, and he wasn't fighting Mosley, who was a good opponent at the time but definitely past his best by several years.

Would you say they are past their primes-still good or just completely past it??? I say they are still good and still two of the top fighters in the world. It's still big. I don't think Floyd's been prime since Hatton and Manny hasn't since Cotto.

I think they're past their best but I still consider Floyd Mayweather to the best fighter in the world and Manny Pacquaio to be Top 3 at worst.

Why else do you think idiots in here always are arguing "O he made this much, or he claims these numbers are real, but so and so is inflating". As for the money...the fact that its the most Manny has ever made is beyond ridiculous, and you failing to see the big picture. It works both ways...Floyd WILL NOT MAKE CLOSE TO WHAT HE WILL FIGHTING MANNY. If i was offered such a low ball offer like only 40 mil while my revenue generating is going to net you all likely close to 100 or more....yeah only an idiot whould take that offer. Just saying. I like both guys, but im not going to BS the story.
The people who argue do so before they have the information. I'm talking about the real figures, not NSB BS.

As for the money-I completely undertsand your argument. But respectfully, its easy to say that when you haven't earned that much nor when you expect toearn a certain figure.

The ppv sales and the money generated from this fight is speculative, not definitive. The $40 mil offer was definitve. regarding floyd, it's likely this fight would generate over $100 mil, not definitive. Floyd COULD earn more than any other fight, but its not DEFINITE!! Manny turned the offer down using your logic. But we are months removed from that point. Thats why I'm saying manny may have changed how he views the offer.

To your point, while i agree $40 mil was a crap offer when made, its still a guarantee. Its clear JMM 4 and Bradley 2 will not yield manny what he is used to making. Its one thing to turn down $40 mil guranteed when you have the POTENTIAL to make as much. Its different IF you are being told you can't even make what you were making.

With the passage of time, manny's options have lowered while floyd's haven't. In fact, the manny/bradley and khan/garcia outcomes created an additional options for floyd. No, none will be as profitable as a manny fight.

Saying Manny is coming off a win is like throwing splenda on a pile of horse dung. No need to sugarcoat. He's lost his last two bouts (one officially) so I'm not sure how that's the same as 2010. In fact it absolutely isn't.

They both are pass their prime but not over the hill yet. Just because their pass their prime doesn't mean theyre not good anymore it just means they are passed their peak.

How many times in business, which is what we are discussing, does time change the situation? Stock prices rise and fall. Net worth rises and falls. Interst rates, prime lending rate etc etc. No different here.
