Miguel Cotto-Should have sent someone to monitor Margarito's handwraps, shouldn't have conceded a CW to Pacquiao, and hasn/t quite been the same fighter since the first Margarito fight, mentally or physically.

i think cotto or alvarez could be a good fight for martinez. they could do it somewhere between 154 and 160 (don't think Cotto would be down at 160). maybe kirkland? there really isn't much else. mayweather would be a good fight to, but i'm sure he would make sergio go down to 154 minimum (still a really good fight though).
Winky Wright, De La Hoya, Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley. Plenty of fighters Martinez could have fought but he was too crap at the time to be mentioned in their breath.

At the end of the day Calazghe is constantly crucified for waiting until late in his career to take on challenges. Why should Martinez be given a pass? Because he was complete garbage early on his career?

Erislandy Lara depends on his Left Hand too much and he waits for Counter Punches way to much instead of using a Jab or something else to set up that Left. Someone who can apply heavy pressure without being reckless and getting caught with that Left will give him problems just like Molina did!

Also think Gamboa going up to 135 will be as bad as a mistake as Aaron Pryor going up to 147 and getting Knocked Out, yes it is more money in the bigger Divisions but he is a Naturally a SMALLER GUY, I don't think he will be the same fighter at 135...NOT EVEN CLOSE!

Carlos Monzon - Hard to imagine but you could have been even greater if you weren't a chain smoker.

Alexis Arguello - Should have stayed retired. Would have liked to have seen him rematch Ramirez.

Harold Johnson - Why trade with Oakland Billy Smith? Once you get passed the onslaught, you could have boxed circles around him.

Floyd Mayweather - Should have fought Stevie Johnston at 135 and Margarito at 147. Also should have been active in 2008 and generally fought more over the last 4 years.

Miguel Cotto - Lacks stamina, needs to improve his defense and footwork. I believe Miguel has improved tremendously. under the guidance of Emanuel Stewart and now the watchful care of Pedro Diaz. They've reinforced the fundamentals of boxing, and sharpened him into the fine tuning machine we all knew he was.

Skies the limit with where he goes now.
