I heard they paper those FOX cards like crazy.

Look at the total gate on those things.

I didn't realize there was an event until later that night when it was over. I always check to see if there is a fight on Saturday nights but it just didn't cross my mind to check until too late.

I train Boxing at an MMA gym so I learned to appreciate MMA years ago. If you like the idea of being able to take somebody out you want to be able to do that anywhere the fight goes.

I've even rolled a few times (loved it) and took some of the Judo classes and there is nothing like the feeling of being able to toss a guy 50-60 lbs heavier than me to the ground like a child. I learned a move that I can't name but can execute to this day in Judo with 1 class.

        MMa is the ****
Boxing has been taken lightly by a lot of MMA fighters so Boxing ain't goin nowhere soon especially with TMT taking the initiative to breathe new life in the promotional realms.

BTW... MMA will catch up with boxing because a lot of these would be aspiring boxers are learning to wrestle/submit/throw/ and utterly destroy fighters.

You can't look at the likes of Silva/Jones/Aldo/Gsp and say the sport won't evolve.

The ratings were always going to go down, when something is new people will check it out as time goes on it will mostly just be the fans who tune in.

UFC is in a pickle though, they are in the PPV business so they need to put their biggest fights on PPV or they won't be able to make money but people want to watch the best so to really grow the audience on Fox they have to sacrifice PPV sales which they really haven't been willing to do.

They also messed up the first one by only have the one fight, that was their time to shine and they fumbled the ball. The next one did alright ratings with a few fights but that was to late.

They do need to reverse that trend though, they have been on a gradual downward trend for a minute now, their current stars just are not the names they need them to be even if they are excellent exciting MMA fighters.

It's the fighters who really suffer. They risk permanent damage and get paid **** compared to boxers.

The card looked weak on paper, but delivered solid action. Easily the best UFC on FOX card.

Makes no difference to me. I enjoyed the main event. The way the network sees it is its still a bigger rating than they would have on a normal Saturday night from 8-10pm.
