And thats the progress hes made with that terrible trainer, would like to see someone who doesn't just tell him to jab and then throw the right in his corner

I agree plus they need to put him in with a guy that can give him rounds. he knows the guys in front of him wont survive long so he goes in there winging shots without even worrying about technique. put him in with a guy he can respect and maybe he'll show more technique and shorten up on his punches. I think they should put him in with a Dominick guinn or mariusz wach. guys that aren't very dangerous but can give him the much needed rounds he needs to improve

He certainly has a ways to go still and a guy like Guinn of Kevin Johnson guys who are not easily stopped are who he needs to be facing. I think his team has moved him properly so far though because he has consistently improved but to improve more he needs to go rounds but with the power he has that is a tough proposition. He should also improve through gym work as long as he has proper dedication to the game, and with the lack of quality rounds he has fought I would have to conclude he has worked pretty hard in the gym so far, so hopefully he can keep that up.

Even as he is now people see these flaws but a lot of guys even decent guys will probably have a difficult time exploiting them because of what is coming back, it is the old Mike Tyson line "everybody has a plan until they get hit". He really just needs to develop his jab better as a set up and I think the right will work itself out. I would say he could use a hook but that normally follows the right and I don;t know if many dudes are going to be standing when the hook would be coming around.

**** it, I'm a Wilder fan. No idea when this guy will eventually reach his ceiling but I'm desperate for any promising American heavyweight to bring a title back to the States.

Would love to see him against Tyson Fury.

he has scary power but leaves himself open to be countered way too easily. he is #3 in the WBC behind arreola & stiverne. at this point no one knows if he can go longer then 4 rounds or if he can take a punch. never saw the sconiers's KD but none the less a journeyman with a losing record floored him. many of us agree that Dominick guinn or kingpin would be a good choice for an opponent as he needs some rounds. I need to see more. I want to see him get hit hard & go 10 or 12 rounds, I want to see how he handles being cut or hurt, how does he respond if his opponent takes his best punch? can he make adjustments?

thought the same thing today. looked like he was rocked in the first round by a jab.

either way, i'd like to see him do well.

I like Wilder but I can't join the fan club til he learns to jab.

People LOVE to hate but Wilder looked good yesterday. He showed more than I thought he had. Good punch variety and an ability to switch things up rather then just a jab right hand. Look at the sequence that ended the bout, He threw a 1-2 and finished it off with a hook, a jab TO THE BODY, a right uppercut then another one two which layed Firtha flat on his back.

That is why the fan club exists, I got mad one day about that garbage and decided to make a positive thread about Wilder.

Wilder is an offensive force, really not worried about that part of his game at all. It really comes down to if his offense is good enough to be his defense which it probably will for most guys because most guys won't be able to reach him before he touches them up. He just needs to not let anyone get close to him because as it stands now if you get in on him he can be had but if he keeps someone on the outside they have big problems.

I like wilder,, im a fan,,,

Do i think he will be the next lennox lewis or even rid**** bowe,,, NO

But i do think he is one of the most exciting guys to watch fight,, he brings fun and excitement to the heavy division,,,

                      I wish him the best,,

he needs to fight james toney to get some rounds in, and if he stops toney, he would be the first guy ever to do that vs toney,,,,,,

also rahman, mitchell, martin rogan should be on wilder's to-do list
