Not necessarily, a U.S. elite presence, the talent should be from anywhere. The whole "screw the division because there are no U.S. HWs" attitude is sickening.

Not saying that's you, but I hear that talk all the time around here. If these people were so "patriotic", they wouldn't be the same people taking shots at people like Mayweather, Broner, Arreola, Ward, Alexander, and Bradley.
It will be a combination of American/Exciting fighter which would be great, I don't think that it would revive anything but there would actually be interest in the Heavyweight division.

The days of the Heavyweight title being one of the most prized titles in sports is probably over. Even 12 years ago when Rahman knocked out Lewis he got nothing like the homecoming that Douglas got after knocking out Tyson(Might not be a great comparison because Tyson was such an iconic figure but Lewis was undisputed champ at the time).

It's really hard to say though unless it happens, the thing is nobody gives a **** because the mainstream radio/TV sports guys don't care and don't talk about it. The perception is that if the fighter is American they might actually talk about it and make it a big deal.

I don't agree that it needs that much talent, there are a lot of solid fighters out there. It's not like the 70's or 90's but it's better then the Byrd/Ruiz/Rahman/Peter days. And look at the days of Joe Louis. They didn't call it "bum of the month" for nothing.

Continued to show progress tonight, not an opponent that is anything to write home about but Wilder continues to look more like a pro fighter in there. It was a nice right that finished it but it landed more on the top of head but certainly shook up Firtha's brain

He certainly has limits in terms of his technical skill and is very raw still but that range and power is a tough combo if he can find a way to harness it just a bit more, I wish Steward was still around because that is exactly who Wilder could use.

I still say their plan with him is working because he continues to look better and much more like a pro boxer. They do need to start finding some better guys for him to fight but I still say it is tough to match him because most guys that could test him are still beyond him and he is still young for heavyweight so they shouldn't rush him.

Im more a fan of his political speeches. His pro federal stance befuddled Ron Paul and his shocking defense of conservatism that left John Stewart silent was breath taking.
