I want him to stop fighting 140 pound fighters, and calling it a title defense.

He just fought Mosley and Cintron both legit 147-154 guys and i think Canelo could easily fight at ww if he chose.

Not Much Really...JUST CLEAN OUT YOUR DIVISION!

If he can do that then he will get the respect and people will take him a lot of more serious, and if he loses this early in his career guess what? he still has plenty of time to redeem himself, I get it because of Mayweather the pressure for guys to stay undefeated is just Ridiculous, you get more respect and you boost your legacy when you can show that you are able to bounce back from a Loss

but instead he is fight old fighters and now SMALLER FIGHTERS despite the fact that it is at least 3 or 4 (K9, Lara, Molina, Trout) fighters at 154 all ready to fight and available for that September 15th...but instead he would rather fight at guy who never fought at 154 (I don't give a *** if they do a catch weight he is still technically a much smaller guy)

then now this will be a Showtime Network even which to me really make this match up a ***in JOKE, I thought they was looking for a Live Opponents for PPV or for a CBS Event, not for ***in SHOWTIME NETWORK...since the fight is on Showtime Network then why not just fight Trout, Lara or even Molina or hell even K9

Sorry Oscar, this way of Promoting a fighter would have worked PRE-INTERNET Days but now fans are not ***in ******, you can't tell us somebody is great or have star potential and just expect all the fans to go with it, that worked for you when Arum did it for you but that was PRE-INTERNET DAYS but even then the hardcore boxing fans knew Oscar wasn't better then Trinidad or Mosley or even a old Pernell Whittaker...but at least Oscar was a Gold Medal Winner and had Some Boxing Skills...But Canelo...Sorry I just don't see anything that really Impresses me AT THE MOMENT!

What you mean to say was "both were legit 147-154 guys", right?? (Emphasis on were). As in half a decade ago were, maybe??

I just wish Lara was considered. I've wanted to see Canelo-Lara since Lara schooled P-Will and Canelo embarassed Cintron.

Nonito Donaire is a hotter name than Lopez. Maybe Alvarez should fight him. Lopez was a junior welterweight two fights ago, and was small as hell in the ring with Ortiz. Asking him to go up again is ludicrous.

But it was ok for Pacquiao to fight the same Mosley a year before, they are building his name guys like k9 and Trout do not help him whatsoever.

People said he was to small for Ortiz he broke his jaw and made him quit, now he has a few months to bulk up i see a catchweight of 150 he will walk in 146-149 how is that any different then what Mayweather would do i believe he was under 150 against Cotto.

I am not really to stressed about Canelo progress, he is a young guy and he is pretty talented but I don't know if he can handle getting thrown to the wolves currently.

I really don't see the pressing need to rush him such a situation either, it would be cool to see him fight some decent 154 pounders but he has a lot of career in front of him so I am pretty sure I will get to see him agianst top guys if he keeps his run going.

No, it wasn't OK for Pacquiao to fight Mosley. But that doesn't matter.

Nothing makes Canelo fighting Lopez OK. Absolutely nothing.
