I lived in Berkeley for 10 years. Right on Sutter Ave near the Albany tunnel. I also lived in East Oakland.

That is actually not true. I talked to Chad's team yesterday and Chad right now is just 179. He does not gain a lot between fights like many fighters. Two months to take off just 10 or so pounds is not an issue. He'll be just fine.

Before the Super 6 I'd have picked Dawson to slaughter Ward. Funny how times change. Don't think the fight being at 168 will matter much. Hard to bet against Ward against anyone from MW to LHW at this stage. And I'm not sure he's peaked yet.

[QUOTE=Mastrangelo;12320759]That's such a great match up, but I can't stop thinkging about that weight limit. QUOTE]Normally I would agree but I confirmed Chad's weight was 179 a few days ago which is because he just doesn't gain a lot of weight between fights. He doesn't eat a lot and never walks around 20 pounds over like some fighters do.

After having spent time around both guys, it is easy to see they both are quality people. Chad just solved one Rubik's cube in Hopkins and now he has to try to solve a different type of Rubik's cube in Ward. I hope niether guy gets hurt. I wouldn't mind a draw because I personally know one team and really like the other. I hope both guys reputations are raised by the fight.

Didn't hé weigh around 185 lbs at fightnight recently?

That being said Im glad that he is on schedule with his weightloss. He still got ways to go though.

He's not ripped so there is some room to lose without atrophying muscles. Chad will have plenty of energy. I trust his team in that regard.....his trainer knows the right way because he had to deal with weight issues in his boxing career and knows what works.

Fighters will eat and drink more water than usual after a weigh in. So a fighter may weigh 7-8 pounds less 2 months before a fight than they do when the step in the ring. Chad weighs 179 now which is way better than a lot of fighters this early.

So you are saying that fighters gain much more weight in 24 hours than they lose in 2+ months?
