And am I the only one who thinks Dawson is gonna be unfazed by the move down to 168???.....I'm expecting him to show up well over 180 on fight night anyway

you wont hear me complaining about it like you hear some of the whiney little girls around here complaining

it's like these guys have been spoiled by their parents or something. they want it all, and they want it now!

dawson volunteered to move down. he's been saying for years now that he'd fight at 168 if the money was right.
same with HW. he's a real fighter. all he needs to do are throw the damn shots and he can be one of the elite.

    ward on intangibles.

you know...I usually HATE using that word when trying to predict fights, But if there ever was a match-up that boiled down to that, it would be this one.

I think the reason Chad is giving away all of these "advantages" (location, weight) is because he realizes he has a lot more to prove than Ward does at this respective point in their careers. Like i've mentioned countless times before, my ceiling for Chad was very high. and he hasn't always delivered.

This is a fight where's gonna be forced to mix it up and prove that the guy we saw against Adamek etc. wasn't a fluke. He's one of the nastiest combination punchers in the game right now, but has been notoriously gun shy. for all the dudes calling him a mental midget, it's put up or shut up time.

This fight is a huge risk for Andre Ward. Glad to see these guys facing each other.

If Chad shows up to fight, he takes it.

Ward has already fought everyone though, Miranda, Kessler, Green, Bika, Abraham, Froch and now Dawson.

Only two big names he hasn't fought are Pavlik and Bute and he'd be heavy favorite for both with KP likely to lose a bout in the Autumn.

I guess there are fighters like Stevenson, Oosthuizen, Stieglitz, Balzay, Magee, DeGale, Andrade and Johnson out there but they're either too green, not good enough or past it.

The one fighter that he could take on who would be a legit threat is Andre Dirrell but he has no heart for it.

Maybe Jean Pascal would be willing to drop down to make a fight with Ward, that would be an entertaining bout.

Gary Shaw is quoted as saying that Dawson and Ward are steroid free. Does that mean that there will be random testing for this fight?

                    Agree with everything you said.

I think Dirrell is the only guy who has a shot to beat Ward if he can keep it together mentally.

You rarely get fights like these, 2 top boxers in their prime against each other. This fight might not be fire works but damn its interesting to see 2 skillful boxers in the ring and see who comes out with the win.
