I think Golden Boy would risk a Cotto fight. It is a big money fight. Oscar must know they can't keep the training wheels on Canelo's bike forever. They have to let him swim with the sharks soon because he is the champ and fans are tired of waiting for him to fight someone good.I think Canelo can beat Cotto. He is big and fast and throws lots of hard, accurate combinations. He puts lots of pressure on his opponents and he is not the type of fighter Cotto likes to fight. Cotto might be dangerous but a win over Cotto makes Canelo huge.

I am not sure Golden Boy would let Canelo fight Cotto in New York because of Cotto's popularity there. That might be a deal breaker. They want the fight to make lots of money, but they want that win, so it may be Vegas or no fight.

Some fans are trying to make Cotto look ike he is ducking Canelo. Get your facts straight. Cotto made plans with his family. He was not going to cancel that for a fight when that fight can happen any other time.

Cotto's plan includes a rematch against Floyd (not going to happen) and the fight at 160 for his fourth title. He knows he will sellout MSG and make good money. The only other reason I can see Mayweather people were in NY is that both companies will try to co-promote events and move away from their dependence in TR and GBP.

I know is laughable, but every time they get a chance they say that Cotto turned him down. The tone is like he is ducking him. I know they are hating, but please grow up and stop making stuff. A guy that might face Martinez next year, is ducking Canelo. SMH

One, Miguel would make a nice payday. Two, he would hand "Canelo" his first loss. (Provided Lara doesn't get to him first. lol)

Indeed. But I agree with him. His family is first. I dont agree with what he is going to do. WBO already helping him to get a title. He will fight the french dude for the 160 title and might go down to face Canelo @ 154 or if Martinez beats Chavez he will fight Martinez. I dont think he will face Chavez. He is too damn big for Cotto and will bully Cotto all night.

If this fight happens .......and Canelo comes through Cotto.. I will be more than happy to buy the Canelo hype in full without any questions.
